So I have been dealing with a customer all day today that is trying to pay but they can't figure it out. The problem is I have no idea how to replicate the issue and can't find anything in the documentation to what is happening. Customer isn't being much help either because they are so frustrated by my lack of knowledge of what is going on. Customer is being sent a "one-time code" instead of a password so they can log in. But it's not working. I can't even figure out HOW they are getting this code sent to them so I don't know how to troubleshoot. If I try and reset my password I just get a normal link for password recovery. Anyone know how they are getting a code, how to use it, or what the fix is here?
are you sure they arent gettng the code when logging nto payment provider
No. He forwarded the email that came from us. And even in one of CS-cart's changelogs they state this is an option now. https://docs.cs-cart.com/latest/history/4111.html But I don't know how he got it or how to use it.

This is where I'm confused. When I test this it still looks like the old style where I just get the warning message with no suggestion to use another email nor a sign me in button. I've tested on different browsers and my iPhone. But for some reason it showed for this one customer but he couldn't figure out how it worked. He'd email us the code thinking that was going to get him able to checkout. Since I am unable to see this working I can't test to see if there is an issue. Had a similar issue with a GDPR block at checkout. It wasn't showing on any browser I used and then one customer said they were seeing the GDPR warning but no matter what they did it wouldn't allow them to checkout.

So your customer have either to login with his account and make the order or the system thinks he forgot his credentials and for this reason sends him an OTP so he can place the order. Then your customer he can just create new password with the “forgot password†system. Now if you want that even someone have account you want to be able to place order as guest also there are several addons. I am using from Cart Power’s addon that let them order as guest and then it automatically adds their order in their account

Correct. I have a test email account I am using for this so I can pretend I don't have my password. But it doesn't work like it should (as shown in the link above) for me. But apparently it does for this one customer (maybe others). Not sure what is going on but contacted Simtech to see if they have any input since they did the upgrade for me.
So I still can not get this to work but Simtech says that it works fine for them. I seriously have tried on 3 different computers with 3 different browsers (cleared caches), a Samsung tablet and an iPhone and can not replicate what it shows in the docs.
