Why Is There No Developers Trying To Create A Add-On To Make Vendor Panel Intuitive?

Evening all,

I am interested to know , why is there no developer trying to build an add-on to make the MV vendor panel looks more intuitive , more attractive -modern- etc ?

It escapes me , is there a specific reason why no one concentrate on this ?

its so important in 2021 that vendors have a panel that is both intuitive and attractive.

Sellers are getting younger and younger and are used to play with app and dashboard, that have lots of UX etc.

Anyone under 30 years old will straight up refuse at the idea of joining the system . and be lost if they were to . which would cost lots of hours and money just to do customers service .

There's a lot of competition coming up with marketplaces , people will always chose what is safe and easy to use. So we are straight up doom from the start.

People use hubspot, chargebee , spotify, etsy , all this app are modern and intuitive to use.

Aware cs cart has made some change lately and its very handy

But what we need ultimately is a change of skin asap .people ask for it since (as i see ) 2018 !

The green colour is also not friendly at all , at least just black and white would have done better

So if any developer could explain why they are not interested in(or cannot) working on add-on to make all this better that would be welcome

At this stage it is something to really take seriously ,

Thank you

+ cs-cart admin/vendor panel is vintage. Need new panels.

Yes that's what I mean thanks

iIs super vintage . I made some of my friends who are 25 and 28 years old use it and they were like 'whatt ? lol good luck '

My mum who is 52 dont even want to sell with my platform it gave her hives lol , she said she will keep using etsy because she is used to it and its more 'simple' for her. its humiliating.

My sellers type are people like my mum and my young friends . so either young or old , no one gets it

Because its really niche, takes a lot of time to develop, and nobody wants to pay ~2k for it.

Have you tried?

From a software business side of things... the entire addressable market for this type of addon/overlay is not large enough to be worth it.

Plus, you'd have to continue development in parallel with every change to CS-Cart which is a challenge for nearly every plugin , addon or extension across all platforms.

There is a problem with Cs-cart's thinking and it lies somewhat in the culture and the mindset..

Any american company would have done this long time ago..You have no idea the reaction from this community when I suggested making vendor panel responsive..they were like what? why? all our store owners use computers to manage stores they are not going to do this on mobile phones, so why??

I agree with you full heartedly. I am trying so hard to stay using CS cart, but cannot even think of going LIVE without the vendor panel being simple to LOAD Products in single and in BULK.

All the sales pitch claims they have all these features but now that I have bought it even bought a premium theme for $300+ , hired Full Stack PHP guy and spending a lot of funds.

I just cannot see how , if I as owner of this site my self cannot load a single item but I can on 5 other marketplaces.

I really hope someone at CS Cart see's this and does something (Just see youtube videos of how to for WOO Commerce marketplace.

What is the answer here?

Have you tried?

No I just know it won't work. Speaking from experience, I will be busy handling stupid requirmenets and be expected to give free unlimited support because somehow people think that purchasing software gives them a lifetime warranty for me improving it for them. Besides that, very hard to maintain because every version of CS-Cart will require a ton of customization and much more. Its too big of an investment to do with no insight in how much I will gain in return.

I agree with @harmsmitsdev on this one.... There is no business model to support the investment nor the maintenance.

It used to be (when I first started developing for cs-cart) that cs-cart was cautious about stepping on addon vendor's addons. I.e. if functionality were available in an addon from a 3rd party developer, they wouldn't add it to the core product. Then they got bigger!! Now, they seem to have total disregard for 3rd party developers and their investments (unless you're simtechdev).

You'll notice that the number of new production addons has decreased over the past few years. Reason is that it's no longer profitable to do so. There's just not enough volume and when cs-cart stomps on your work it just depreciates the value of the addon in the market. No need to compete with the big-fish here.

Best solution is for you go get together with several other merchants (cs-cart customers and more importantly potential customers) and demand that they adjust the product to meet your needs. If not, the only power you have is to walk away.

We've tried to address pieces of this in our EZ Vendor Fields addon for MVE that lets a site admin hide various menus and fields from vendors that aren't need by vendors on their site. But my bet is it will last less than a year before I have to pull it because either cs-cart will add something similar (and most likely less complete) and/or the maintenance costs will become too high relative to sales.

Using EZ Vendor Fields as an example, it was released in Nov-20. There have been MAYBE 1/2 dozen sales. I'll need about 50 sales just to break even. You can do the math for how long that will take Bottom line is that cs-cart addon market is VERY SMALL. It takes forever to recover your investment in production addons. Therefore there's not a lot of incentive to make large investments in addons that won't be profitable till after I die.

It's all business. If you want addon vendors to provide lower cost production addons, then you need to buy our products. Otherwise it forces us and you into custom development which is much more expensive for you and much safer for us.

whole Russian branch is demo field for alexbranding addons..
