Promotion Issue - Coupon Code To User Group Doesn't Seem To Work... Rate Topic   - - - - -

Hi all,

 

Has anyone else come across a problem with the following scenario:

 

You set up a User Group to enable specific pricing however, you want it to be activated when a customer enters a coupon/promotional code.

 

I've tested that this work when I manually assign a customer to a user group, however if I set up a cart promotion which has a coupon code condition and the bonus is to assign a user group, it doesn't seem to work..

 

Any thoughts? I'm using this to then trigger a catalog promotion to assign different brand discounts which I've proved works if I manually set the customer to the user group.

Might require a logout/login to get the session 'auth' usergroup_ids to see the new usergroup.  You might try reporting it as a bug in the bugtracker if you can verify that the user is in fact now in the usergroup.

Thanks for the suggestion, however using a coupon code shouldn't need a customer to log out and back in again for it to work...

It's not the condition (coupon code), it's the bonus.  My point being that there might be a bug for that bonus where it's not updating the 'auth' credentials.  The logout/login was a test for you to validate behavior.

Assign user group bonus will work for logged in customers only

Thank you for the the response, our store is setup so that you have to be logged in to view pricing etc, so I'm testing it logged in

So try to reproduce the issue on the demo. Possibly there is a bug there
