I find it very inconvenient to where product position is set, in the products > categories > ...

 

I wish admin product details page has field to enter products position.

 

I have one secondary category where default sorting is by position, so I want some products to float on top, as if they would be sponsored...

Since the product can be assigned to several categories, product position can be set up on the category listing only
