How To Make Validation Work For Any Country Language

I have made a form but the issue is i can validate the form in English language only. For other language I have to find regex and that is a problem.

As in my form when I type "" in English it shows error as it supposed to be.
But when i translate the text into other say Spanish / Chinese or etc... It will accept.

Please help, In Cs cart is there a way to validate the text area which contains the text. As the field is text area so please help me to find a good way to validate. As a user may make a SQL injection or some other query, which will harm the Cs cart itself.

Please help me on this topic.

Text areas are not supported for any of the class or assocated JS validations. They are also not supported for "required" attribute in html5.

I got it. Let me explain the issue in detail.

On the storefront language enable is English Only and has other countries enabled it too. Now, If a user from different country came on the storefront. And in my addon Lets say "Ask A Query" is addon I Build.

I provide a button which is visible on Product detailed page on the fronted write any Query related to product not in English but in other language. The problem is I have made a validation form for the Query. If the user write the Query not in English but in other language.

What should be the best decision ??
Case 1 :- Display an error which says "Please user English Character only".
Case 2 :- Make a validation form which lets other language to validate.

By validating form I just need to validate the user should not any tags or a Database Query to harm my store inside the input field. That's the main reason. I am stuck in this situation.

Assuming you have multiple languages enabled for the SIT.

In backend there are 2 languages available CART_LANGUAGE (the default language of the site) and DESCR_SL (the language for editing things like descriptions, names, etc.

On the front end, there is only one active language at a time and CART_LANGUAGE is set to that. To change languages, the user must select another language so all the site's translations work properly.

So your form should always assume CART_LANGUAGE and act appropriately.

How are you determining if user-input is in a particular language? If you want exact selection, use a selectbox, radio buttons or checkboxes.

If you're doing DB queries based on free form user-input, then you are opening a huge security hole for whomever you are building this addon for.

I have used input fields and uses cscart micro-formats for regex. In that regex I have defined only English letters, numbers and some special characters only .

As the main reason i have raised this issue was I am unaware of a fact that MySQL follows a standards. i was assuming that if user write a database query on a input field. And no validation is there in the form will that query will work as user may use a language that is not set on the storefront. For say if a user uses Chinese language typed a database query will my database can read it or it will implement.

Will then the query work ??

As user used Chinese language and typed database query in Chinese language. On clicking submit button will then the query will work.

I would put the various language instances of regex 'patterns' into variables like:

{assign var="regex_pat" value=['en=>'/eng pattern/', 'es'=>'/spanish pattern/', etc...]}

and then do something like:

regex="{regex_pat.`$smarty.const.CART_LANGUAGE`}"

Note that this is just off the top of my head and might require some refinement.

As I have stated that, does mysql query works on english language only or it will work on other languages as well Not for just CsCart but for knowledge. Are there some standard for MySql query to follow ?

mySQL doesn't care about language itself. However, the cart manages certain product properties by language itself.

I have found the regex which will validate all characters of all language but no special character included. ( Only ? . ! spaces )

Please use below regex expression and you can add the special characters you will allow user to enter like below example.

Allowing spaces between words.
