hi

I want to make the vendor pannel a lot more user friendly and decluter

I have done something like that ( see picture)

I believe 'message center should not be hidden , it should be the first thing visible since it's communication with their buyers .

also the features button should be something like 'Features available ' instead of 'add and manage extra products fields' its misleading since they are not allowed and cant add or manage products features.

also i changed around a bit the items, as most of the time it does not make sense for the customers journey , and its not easy to find where to go .

also as seen on picture , making the vendor pannel more 'personal ' using ' my messages' 'view my orders' 'view my products ' instead of 'view vendors products'

its very confusing and does not warm up the pannel for one bit.

Please can someone tell me if its possible to do that , and who can do that ?

Thank you very much

The panel needs to be changed entirely a lot of thing do not make sense some menu items are just at the wrong place, its not flowing.  and the plan on changing this is in the category 'longer term' this should be a priority , because vendors stay on a platform if its easy to use , if not they go elsewhere.

There are several developers who have designed nice themes for cs-cart but none have ever thought of developing a theme for the admin panel, while I am sure that a modern and flexible theme for the backend will be a real commercial success.

its much needed , to be honest I am really disappointed and there's days i even wonder if i will ever launch at all lol .

My customers and vendors are on the young side , and i am not sure they will deal well with a panel that reminds them of excel sheets. (sorry and lol )

Do you use the app ?

I am very excited about the app, and thought i would get my vendors to add products and all from there . and they can do  BUT they cannot add features /variants . and cs cart told me it's not a very popular request so they probably won't add it.

Its frustrating because its so close to be great, they are great engineer, but not great designers , with an understanding of customers journey etc . the panel is not intuitive at all lol . i have a small tears everyday i use it .

Hi saltwater.

I agree that vendor panel should be more user friendly, and we pay a lot of attention to it.

There are a number of improvements in 4.12. but they are not big one. We do changes gradually.

If you have vision of how it should look like and the main vendor workflows  I would like to discuss it with you.

Please PM me and I will schedule a call.

Interesting IMAC I not only posted this same topic in the forum long time ago I personally messaged you as well to no avail. My advice don't try to reinvent things - take all the inspiration from Etsy go thro' the entire vendor onboarding process and panel and you will have very good idea what needs to be done. Keep in mind Etsy serves a lot of small sellers around the world who are not tech savvy. That is exactly what you need.

Here is topic I posted long time ago:

Hey,

Imac never got back to me in fact , although I DM'd him to no avail either.Which is disappointing.

I agree with your point on etsy onboarding process and panel. It should be just by that .theres nothing wrong with getting inspired by what works . the current panel is scary.

did you had any luck with hungryweb app ? , the last post someone says it has bugs

all points made on your original post are true.

its really frustrating.

As you can tell from the forum thread this has been brought up but these guys don't seem to get it because none of them actually sell products or have a need to work with a seller. It is like a chef never tasting his own cooked food.. :-)) I tried hungyweb plugin, got bugs and didn't like it. It just changes the colors not layout so doesn't do much good.

I cannot agree more with you saltwater...  you just pointed out a few of the many things that should have been addressed long time ago by CS-Cart people. First and foremost the vendor panel should be a fun an easy place for vendors to manage everything they need to showcase their products (vendors is what making us relevant in the business so with CS-Cart). I've been comparing the vendor UI from other marketplace and I can't deny the envy I have. CS-Cart available functionality is on par with others and that I have to admit but it's admin panel is out of tune, unfriendly to users and UI looks is dull/boring. Don't get me wrong CS-Cart this is a constructive comments that you should pay attention to improve your platform the earliest time possible. The outcry of majority for this to happen has just fallen through cracks and deaf ears.

Hi guys,

I know it only partly solves the problem, but this add-on helped me a lot with making the panel more vendor friendly: https://cs-cart.pl/m...f-page-editing/.

There's also another one, but we didn't try it: https://cs-cart.pl/m...dor-permission/

Maybe it helps.

On the other hand, I totally agree that CS Cart should just make it more user friendly by default, but we couldn't wait for their move and we were just too ashamed to show the panel as it looked originally to the vendors, since they would probably just say 'goodbye forever' to us immediately.

BTW, I read this plot and it's really sad to see how CS Cart treats their users. Unacceptable.

If CS-Cart is curious about my preference of the arrangement of the admin/vendor panel menus. Then just look at the attached screenshot of my vendor account in one of the successful marketplace in our area for your reference.

For example the Shipment menu, it displays all about related to the actions and status of orders. It's very simple and organised. You can easily visualised what need to be managed.

I don't know for you guys but this is easy for me to navigate and manage a store.

Having a more "Vendor Friendly" admin panel should definitely be a priority. We have over 1,000 vendors in our multi-vendor site (check it out here: https://goimagine.com)and get NON-STOP complaints that it's too hard to use. We have lost many vendors who were paying subscription fees to us.

If nothing else, maybe just make the "skin/theme" look more modern. We can train people through the workflow issues, but the Admin Panel "looks" like it's from 2006. Just by making the colors, fonts and blocks more modern looking would go a LONG way to giving the perception to our vendors that it's a modern admin panel.

As a "two-sided" marketplace it means there are customers on both sides. Making thing easier for the vendors IS making it easier for our customers.

They basically copied or took a lot from Etsy....and that is exactly I have been telling cs-cart, Etsy has spent years perfecting it do as they do and be done with it..but somehow I am unable to drive my point home and that is mostly because of other cs-cart owners don't chime in and some actually argue that no change needed!

I agree , there is no development because some people refuse changes , when its actually much needed .

Sellers are getting younger too, anyone under 40 years old dont want to deal with a dashboard that old looking with erratic customer journey

Other than that . we might try to write a collective email and explain our collective frustration ? , and first agree on what vision we share for the panel to look like ( Etsy feel dashboard, onboarding etc is good with me personally . its accessible to any vendors of any age group )

But something needs to be done , I haven't launch yet because i am too ashamed of the vendor dashboard. and feels like its a bit let down to them, and at that stage i am not going to be able to deal with all the complain (i know will come ) in early stages

anyone have suggestion on what we could do about this ?

How can we all get CS Cart's attention, its FEB 8, 2021 ,  not 2001,  look at Woo commerce promoting such great , colorful, simple admin panels easily accessible from front and back end.  They just have to see a free youtube presentation and as all of you are saying, its out there, no secret , just imitate and lets run with it.

They can help some of us who are voicing our thoughts for the betterment for all of us as there is a need, and it will also help the owners of CS cart to sell more of their licenses,  we all benefit.

I hope they read this.

Hi All,

Perhaps this will help prove your points. There have been multiple threads on the Etsy Forums regarding our new marketplace. Below are screenshots to some vendors who are complaining about using the CS-Cart (our) Vendor Admin Panel. Most of these vendors have cancelled being a seller on our platform because of the difficulty...which is lost revenue to us since we charge a subscription fee.

Below are 5 complaints on the Etsy Forums over the past week. If I took the time to get them all there's probably been 50 complaints over the past few months from sellers saying the CS-Cart Vendor Admin Panel is too difficult and confusing to use. (Of course, they refer to it as our admin panel)
