Apply Promo Code Link

Ok so I was making a purchase in some shoppify shop, was given a promo code for free shipping that I simply applied by opening a link something like

www.domain.com/PROMOCODE

Does cs-cart do this ?

Not out of the box, but I'm sure a simple addon could be developed to store a coupon code in the SESSION and then apply it when the user adds an item to the cart.

I've seen it recently but it worked a little bit different.

I've opened a Google Ad url and the exampl.com/product-name?coupon=promo123 automatically applied the promotion.

It's a smart way to make a promotion channel dependant and measure how it works.

I would be also interested :-)

I must say shoppify checkout and promo code link experience was very convenient experience, I am really disapointed cs-cart is not adding any user experience related upgrades like ever..

If you want to wait for cs-cart, then I'm sure it will come eventually once a developer decides it wold be a fun project. But as I said, it's not a hugely complex addon to develop. But does take time and testing.

Thanks for offer but not interested. No longer buy custom development only addons available in marketplace that are updated

Okay, you must have bad experience with other developers. We support all our work unless/until cs-cart makes changes that break everything (like 4.10.1 and any addon that interacted with checkout). Not sure you could find any of my customers where I've done custom work where they have not gotten any support they needed. And if a situation were to occur where we would need to charge for further changes, we try to account for the original investment. Just because an addon is available in the markietplace is no guarantee that it will be updated. I.e. we dropped support for a couple of our addons when 4.10.1 came out since cs-cart refuses to document the new attributes to fields in the new checkout. We won't play a continuous game of "catch up" and chase the monkey.

Just thought I'd offer to solve your problem. Apparently it's not really that important to you.
