Change Notification Email Content

Hi,

I can't actually believe I am having to ask how to do this, as I am sure it is the simplest of tasks, but I just can't seem to find it.

When a customer makes a purchase from our store, they receive an order notification email, with the Invoice embedded. That's all good!

However, the default message is rubbish and clearly written in pigeon English. It looks like this;

Dear Joe Bloggs,
Thank you for the order. You are welcome to come back!
As you can see, that is awful!
So, I simply want to change the message or get rid of the 'you are welcome to come back' bit.
I thought there would just be a notifications email editor in the settings somewhere, but I couldn't find this.
So I went to Design Menu/Templates/mail and so on. The templates are nothing but code and none of them, not even the orders or invoice templates, contain that nasty phrase "you are welcome to come back".
I must be missing something really obvious here as it could not possibly be as hard as I appear to making it, to change the content of a notification email.
Please can someone put me out of my misery and show me where this is?
Many thanks in advance.

Administrations -> Notifications -> Customer notifications

You can find necessary notifications here

If you are using the older (better IMHO) email templates then you change the text of the messages in Administration/Statuses/Order statuses. There are text areas there where you can modify the text used in notifications. If you use the new system, you will have to edit the template as Ecom states in Administration/Notifications/Customer notifications

Hi,

I have the same question. I try Administration>Customer notification and I get only code. I also tried the snippets.

There's no way to edit the copy.

Can't CS-Cart understand that not only developers work on the admin platform?? Please :)

All help is welcome in the meantime!

Hey,

did you find the answer? One option is to go into Administation>Languages>search the pattern you want to change and just edit the text.

Very intuitive, i know ;)

The answer is "it depends"....

In the older style email templates (better IMHO), you used to enable/disable messages by order status in the Administration/Statuses/Order statuses. However, cs-cart moved the enable/disable functionality to the Administration/Notifications/Customer notifications area (enable/disable). However, the 'content' in there is the content for the New Email templates only.

If you need to change the content of the older template style you need to change the content in the Statuses/Order statuses area and enable/disable in the Notifications/Customer notifications area. If you are using the new email templates, you do everything in the Notifications/Customer notifications area.

Do note that cs-cart left the enable/disable form properties in the Statuses/Order statuses are but they do nothing.
