Link Pictures To The Relevant Category

On my hompage i have a number of pictures for my categories (see attached) and would like the customer to be able to either click on the picture to take them to the relevant category or click on the text.

Could someone please advise how i could do this?

What kind of block do you use there? Block with categories and multi-columns template? In this case image can be clicked. Just checked it on the clean installation
