I've gone back and forth and cannot figure this out for my life.
I want to be able to design one standard layout for micro stores that every vendor starts with when they start selling on my website. For example, a vendor applies to sell on my site, they get approved, and all they have to do to set up their store is edit their logo, edit their page banner, and add their products. I want to be able to create a standard layout page that already has those things (logo, banner, etc.) placed where I want them to be.
I can only figure out how to log in as a vendor and edit the micro store that way, but I obviously do not want to have to manually log in as a vendor and edit layout pages for my vendors every time a new one signs up. I do have multi-vendor plus and I know I have the ability to give vendors shop editing abilities but for now I am not going to give vendors permission.
Almost everything you described is possible without much effort.
1. Sign in to your admin panel.
2. On the Design > Layouts page, select the Vendor store tab.

3. There you'll be able to design the default microstore according to your liking.
5. Please note the blocks that begin with Vendor... (specifically, Vendor logo, Vendor categories, and Vendor information) They are filled automatically from vendor data.

6. So, if a vendor uploads the logo in his or her admin panel (the Logo tab of their profile, available from the Vendors menu), it will appear on the storefront without any action on your part.
The way I see it, the only thing that could require custom development (or giving vendors access to edit layouts) in this case is a vendor banner.

Thank you! Is there a way I can check out what it looks like as I make changes? When I go to my sample vendor page (website url/acme-corp/) it's just a copy of my store's homepage...
Try a link like
https://example.com/index.php?dispatch=companies.products&company_id=1
(replace example.com with the URL of your marketplace, and the ID number with the one of your vendor).
If that doesn't work, then I'll be out of guesses and advise contacting us via Help Desk. In Help Desk, our specialists could investigate the issue directly in your store (if you provide access credentials to them there).

If you use vendor plans module, current vendor plan should support microstore. In other way, you will see vendor details page
