billing/shipping phone not captured from checkout..


field is already show/required from profile field at backend..

I wish I knew.

The customer's first name, last name, and phone ARE written into the USER database table, but are not included in the order's Shipping Names, Shipping phone, or Billing Names, Shipping phone fields.

When you try to export an order (for shipping software import) - you get no name.

There's no name on the Invoice or Packing List.

And none of these values are included in the Customer Profile. Then... the customer must enter their name and phone fields in BOTH the Shipping and Billing address fields to update their profile.


I don't understand why the decision was made to not include these values in the order or profile.

This is a major issue. Those are missing. Even if you try manage blocks. There's no option to add CITY or COUNTRY to SHIPPING ADDRESS block. We get only customer complaints and extra work for us when we have to add manually each order shipping and billing details to correct fields.


I assume that would be already fixed to latest release but NOT.

Yes, major issue. You no longer can see the customer name or phone number in Admin / Orders. The Customer name and Phone are now pulled from the Contact Info of the profile fields not the billing address anymore. But.....Nobody uses the Contact Info section as it is redundant info for most of us.


Also, try a search in Admin Orders for the customer name that is not displayed in the summary screen. It will not find it because it is no longer part of the search. They seem to be only searching the Contact Info not the Billing and Shipping Info.


Very messed up. I would have hope, but this is not the only thing really messed up with the latest CSC changes.
