Hi, does anyone do a customers notes module for registered users, I need the custom to be able to see this not just admin.
We have an old site which we couldn't move across the data so I need to be able to add some old technical information about products they purchased against a user account without an order that they can see.
I believe the 'cust_notes' is visible to the customer though it may not be printed on the invoice.
I'm wanting to add notes to the customer account, so they don't have an invoice on the system but I can leave notes there for their record. I could create empty invoices and add notes that way but this would mess up our invoicing system a bit so really not ideal
Again, as an admin, you can edit customer notes and they should also have visiblity of them. If you want something more transactional, then a relatively straight-forward addon could be developed specific to your needs. But I'm guessing the built-in functionality will work for what you describe.

I'm logged in and if I click on a customer profile I can only see 'staff notes' there aren't any customer notes listed there, what am I missing?

Who are these notes for? Customer or Admin?

Yes the notes need to be against a customers account not an order and visible to the customer, at the moment there are 'staff notes' we can write against customer accounts that aren't tied to or requiring an order but these are only visible to admin
Can certainly write you an addon that will provide a transactional log of comments between admin and customer that are visible in customer profile. Would also enable customer to provide new notes. Suggest that you also include notification to admin and customer when one or the other submits a new comment transaction. Click the link in my signature to get a fixed bid quote.
