All appears well 'finally' since my store was given a new domain name.
A few problems because I didn't configure the store ( via admin ) with
the new domain name.
Admin area now working well, store front loads and all products displaying in admin.
Just one slight problem.
All the products that were displaying before in the store are now giving me
Not Found
The requested URL was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Just discovered that no home pages links ( Contact Us etc ) are are working
and giving the same error.
I must have forgotten something but just can't figure it out.
Some file must have gone missing when my host tossed all my existing store
files into a folder by mistake then put them all back to root ( due to my making too vague a request ).
All fixed.
This web host really does go above and beyond.

The default rewrite rules to the index page were missing, so I have performed some research and copied the ones from this forum:
