How Are Cs Cart Developers And Addons?

Hello, I run a digital marketplace based on wordpress and as the site grows we are seeing the need to look for a more suitable solution.

Currently I am between two alternatives with CS Cart being the first and Magento being the second. I have done some testing with CS Cart and it meets most of my needs, but there are some things I will need to customize and here is my biggest fear.

I'm not sure if this is just my perception, but I feel the section dedicated to addons and developers a bit clumsy. Everytime that I check this are I feel that there is no new developer or addon being released and and that makes me a little worried.

But my concern is not restricted to the CS Cart marketplace. I tried to find CS Cart developers from my country (Brazil) in a Google Search and to my surprise I couldn't find any.

So my question is how are CS Cart Developers and Addons? We have a good quantity of options?

My fear is to start using CS Cart and end up with no options to continue development or enhance the platform with new features.

We've been with CS-Cart for a long time and we will stick with CS-Cart in the future. Are you using WooCommerce now? We can help to migrate your store to CS-Cart and please feel free to contact us here.

What addons are you looking for specifically

By default, Cs-cart is wayyy faster than Magento and with almost all the features as in Magento. Not sure about how cs-cart performs under heavy load though. Its the most under rated shopping platform. I don't know the reason why but this could have been the next Magento.

Coming to the point, the thing that you will find difficult is finding cs-cart developers. So in general the cost of development will be very high, even for simple projects.

Thanks for the feedback. I feel that CS Cart is a good tool, maybe the best tool for a marketplace considering that the basic shop and also multi vendor features are developer by the same team, but I confess that I am bit worried if I am making the best choice using CS Cart.

In general seems that CS Cart has almost all features that I need but I already found some features that I considered too basic, but are not included in software. A good example is that download links are not protected against sharing. If someone knows the download link of a product, he can download the file even when not logged in. In woocommerce and magento we have options to associate a download link to a user, so only that user will be able to download the file.

The lack of the feature that I described above make me think how easy is to find a developer and how much this would cost? In magento and woocommerce I have several developers that make easy to choose one, but seems that the same doesnt occur with CS Cart.

For addons there are two that are essential for my business, but I couldnt find anything until now. The first is a PDF Watermark to watermark digital files with the information of the client that bought it. The second is a Forum/Discussion section to allow my customer to interact (like this forum is for CS Cart).

Did you search only in marketplace or even in google? There are lot of other vendors who make addons for cs-cart but don't list some of them in the cs-cart marketplace. If you can't the addon you are looking for, contacting a developer is your only way.

This should also give you an idea before you make the jump. Contact, Magento, Woocommerce and CS-Cart developers for the cost of the same project and compare which is more cost effective and coming from a high quality developer or a mediocre one..

Dear Shanower,

I would like to inform you that we are a reputed CS-Cart developer and also we have been providing custom solutions to our clients for years. I actually think the opposite is true. Developing for cs-cart is much easier and faster than for Magento, so costs will be much lower. There are plenty of good developers around. Look for the helpful ones on the forum here.

I have had made pretty difficult integrations for around 300 usd - magento offers these as subscription for monthly fees. I have my development money back within a year and can customize things exactly like I want.

The only problem cs-cart has is that it doesn't really integrate with anything accept PSP's out of the box (like shipping labels, etc).

Hello Webkul,

I send you some customizations that we are looking.

One of my problems is the lack of developers in my country, unfortunatelly there are some integrations that require understanding of brazilian portuguese, since neither all API documentation are available in english.

The language issue is the biggest barrier. i've had to turn down work for Portugal and S. America because documentation for requested integrations was only available in Portuguese. However, there are many reliable vendors here. I would look at how long people have been developing for cs-cart. Cs-cart development is very specific and takes study time to get up to speed.

Many of my clients come to me because of the delays in communication due to timezones (one message back and forth a day just doesn't work when defining a project) and language barriers with other developers. They are never quite sure that the developers understand what they're stating and that makes them nervous.

Obviously I'm a developer and been working with cs-cart for over 10 years. Have been developing production addons since 2008 but have stopped doing production development of addons because the demand just isn't there to recoup my investment. And now with fiascos like 4.10.x has virtually destroyed my addon business unless I can afford to re-invest 100 hours to adjust my addons to be compatible with 4.10.x! Thanks cs-cart. However we have over 200 clients that I work with for all sorts of custom development. We focus on backend functionality/extensions versus frontend look and feel.

I am just wondering for the users who have stated that developing with CS_Cart is much faster and cheaper than Magento, whether this has been comparable on projects that you have personally worked on and whether you would like to share the details please? I'm interested in how much time/money we could end up saving on the development side if we were to use CS-cart. Thank you.

Hi

We are Team of 22 working only on cs-cart since last 5.5 yrs. we are providing one stop managed solutions to our clients.

As a product , we found that its too flexible and easy to make what we think to implement. We have implemented 30 concepts on cs-cart in our past.

We can discuss it in details about what you are looking at. Please PM your details.

Thanks

Sachin

What problems you are facing with wordpress? Speed, scalability or availability of developers? Are you using woocommerce plugin or plain wordpress? See if your issues can be solved in your existing platform itself. Having said that, if you have access to cs-cart developers locally, you can switch to cs-cart.

In my case the problem with woocommerce and wordpress is how they are designed. Example, I have some gigabytes of junk files that required manual check since woocommerce/wordpress doesn't delete unattached files from products.

As a update of my odyssey, I still looking for a brazilian developer to start my project, but I confess that I've already given up hope of using CS Cart.

Try with @eComLabs, I wouldn't make mistake and pay for some local programmers even they speak Portuguese, for CSC you need a real specialist with this management system, otherwise you will suffering with many problems appear during integration etc.

Any specific issues you or your developers faced with CS-Cart? It seems to be a very development friendly.

Have you given the latest Magento 2.2.x a look? they promise to be more streamlined with respect to development compared to the Magento 1.

The problem is that some brazilian services only have documentation available in portuguese and can not be easily translated. A good example is the brazilian invoice, it documentation has 311 pages of pure portuguese tax information

There are some problems like users being allowed to download digital products even logged out (anyone thought that is this a serious problem for a platform that sell digital products?), missing checkout fields and guest checkout.

I checked Magento and it is my first alternative. I would like not to use Magento, because we fall in the same situation that we are now, a CMS not designed to marketplace with several addons that can crash anytime :?
