Hello All,
I have been using CS-Cart 1.3.5 sp1 trial for a couple months. Loved the product and bought it yesterday. I decided to update trial to full, then full to 1.3.5 sp2. The trial to full update went well. However, when trying to upgrade to SP2 using Store Manager, I ended up getting stuck. Essentially, the Store Manager goes so far until it needs to upload files and it gets stuck while trying to upload the '.htaccess' files. I tried manually uploading the htaccess file to my website (hosted on Gisol.com) which did not give an error, but also never generated an actual file either. I am not sure what I am missing here, if there is something on the Store Manager settings, or something in the webserver settings ( I don't have much control since this is hosted). Please let me know if you can help.
Thanks,
Will Flint

Got help from CS support. They gave me an update to the Store Manager and after a couple tries it got pass the '.htaccess' stall. However, it still couldn't finish the job. It continued to generate all of the files needed for the upgrade (including merging of the upgrade with my old files). Then it tried to upload the files back to my server via FTP. However it was really slow and ended up stalling out 15 or 20 times before I gave up and uploaded the files via WS-FTP. Then I updated the Store Manager's action script to trick it into knowing that the upload was completed (find the action script, open it for editing in text editor, then change 0's to 1's for all upload entries). Then it ran its final scripts. However it got to the final 5% of the upgrade, where it deletes files from the /backup folder on the server, and was unable to finish. However I noticed that my store was up and running so I just closed the application and considered it done.
Thanks,

Hi

To be honest, if you haven't got much in the way of "mods" I would go for a fresh full install of sp2!!!!

It is easier than upgrading anyway.

Ive got some pretty heaviy edited TPL files, so I can't necessarily do a fresh install. It would be nice to get store manager working so that I can note and resolve any TPL conflicts.

The problem I am having is that when I test the settings for Store Manager, it fails when trying to create the '/backup/files' directory on the server.

Seems like it is having problems with permissions...

Yes i have the same problem from a fresh sp3 install. I know the settigns are right because filezilla ftp works fine. Just store manager doesn't. I get stuck on test settings.

It turned out to be a permissions issue. Very early in the manual it does say the permissions must be 777 etc. I must have altered them at some point.

The moment I changed them per manual and ran the store manager test, it went right through. I've backed it up for 7 days now without failure.I was stuck at 45% on backup.php file for weeks. Hope this helps someone.
Thanks,
Aj

Never used the store manager. All updates I make manually and no errors.
This worked for me.
