No offense but $120 is a little steep for my blood when it comes to mods. I can get a full version of the latest Pinnacle Studio for less than that.

absolute no offence …also like this mod and your work , but smavtron …cs cost 195 this mod near the 1/2

I understand both your comments and this is the sheer reason I have no purchased a mod from their store to date. I believe their trying to cover the cost of their time and resources before CS-Cart integrates this into the cart next version anyway

i can buy alot for diapers for $120, at least 2 months worth…

I know what you mean - but it is a free market is how I see it.

If the mod will pay you that cost back then surely that is all that counts??

And then we get onto what is cs-cart all about. I see it as a commercial product that then has a community of users - all of whom will be trying to make a profit from it in some way or another.

It is a free marketplace, and public demand will determine whether his pricing is fair.

I don’t see any need to criticize it, at least it’s another mod that’s out there which wasn’t available before.

I wouldn’t mind seeing more developers selling addons. It will make CS-Cart a more viable choice for the masses.

For that money i can pay a man to check daily all my products until cs-cart release thease feature. :))

And the market place will decide.

It is not that new mods are bad! I also do NOT believe it is “bad” for someone to charge something for a new “mod.”

What is CRAZY is when someone wants to charge $50+ for an “add-on” when the whole cart only cost less than $200!! Not to mention the site above charges

People writing new mods need to keep the pricing more proportional. At least keep it logical.

In regards to the “market.” Yes, the market will show. So when someone comes along and finds the mods are not competitive with the cost of the cart they will leave.

As for those of you making comments that people are “making money” off the mods. I am honestly shocked. Some of you have created “clubs” and charge $25-$100 per person to get a mod written. Some say if you don’t donate by a certain date then you can’t get the mode. It sounds like there are a lot of you going off the deep end!

Well, at least these posts seem to be bringing some sense of reason to the pricing. The pricing for this mod has dropped substantially.

Bob

Wel I figure I would throw my 2 cents into this pot.

I feel that Smavtron has the right to charge whatever he wants to for a mod just like a burger place has the right to charge whatever they want for a burger. The price for both items will be dependent on the demand. If they sell like hotcakes than the price remains high. If they don’t sell at all than the price will drop.

If you have a problem with the price than don’t buy the mod and get a quote from some other developer or CS-Cart themselves and see how much the mod costs then. I have paid to have a couple of mods developed both by Smavtron and by CS-Cart. My cheapest mod was by Smavtron and I think it cost $175.00 to have developed. The mod I had CS-Cart develop cost around $475.00.

Anyways like I said above if you don’t like the price try to have a mod developed elsewhere and see where that will get you. I bet that if you really want the mod than you will be going back to Smavtron in the end.
