Hi

I have installed an SSL, however it doesn't seem to want to work automatically. If I go to say the cart, and then go to the top and change the url by inserting an s ie http=http(s) then the cart becomes secure.

If I try to activate the cart/checkout etc for SSL I get the message to check config.php.

I can't see anything wrong!!

Any ideas please?

double check to make sure the settings are right, if your cart is installed in the root the settings would be:

// Host and directory where cs-cart is installed on secure server
$cscart_https_host = 'secure.mywebsite.com';
$cscart_https_dir = '';

and in a dir called "store" the setting would be:

// Host and directory where cs-cart is installed on secure server
$cscart_https_host = 'secure.mywebsite.com';
$cscart_https_dir = '/store';

I also think it is in your config.php path settings as snorocket suggested.

Only question I have is, what is meant by "secure".mycompany.com? Is there a specific word that should be there????

verify that your config.php file looks
EXACTLY like this:

// Host and directory where cs-cart is installed on usual server
$cscart_http_host = 'www.bhdiyandpets.co.uk';
$cscart_http_dir = '';

// Host and directory where cs-cart is installed on secure server
$cscart_https_host = 'www.bhdiyandpets.co.uk';
$cscart_https_dir = '';

your getting login box then an Auth 401 error when checking out:

I have locked my website again, as you will have seen it is only "half Baked" and I want it 100% secure and looking good before I open it!

I noticed some earlier threads where you were "altering" some config files.
as well as some other issues re: security

If this ssl is not working, I would check with the host and see what the error logs say

I have checked everything I can and can't find anything. Everytime I check an SSL box in admin I get......
"The secure connection check has failed. Please check HTTPS settings in "config.php" file and make sure that SSL certificate is installed on your server."

Unless it refers to some other code in config.php?

Have been on to my host, he said that the ssl is installed in public_html//usr/bin/openssl. He also refered to my htaccess file in public_html but there isn't one! He said I could create one and would have to "You will then need to create the mod_rewrite rule and add it to the .htaccess file" me not understand!!!!!

Help please

I just did a little digging and see that the Cert has been created for www.bhdiyandpets.co.uk and it is installed correctly on that cPanel server.

This means that MikeFold's info about the config.php settings above is 100% correct.

The following variables should be exactly like below.

$cscart_http_host = 'www.bhdiyandpets.co.uk';
$cscart_http_dir = '';

$cscart_https_host = 'www.bhdiyandpets.co.uk';
$cscart_https_dir = '';

Triple check these settings because, I have encountered this exact issue before and it was because of the https_host and https_dir being inaccurate.

There should also be an .htaccess in the root of your store that is part of the CS-Cart package Barry. I don't believe that is going to be your issue here but it will be a problem later if you decide to use some features so you should replace it.

Hi

Thanks for that, I have checked this a 100 times and still I have the same issue.

It works fine if I add the "s" on to http in url.

Stumped now!!!

Apart from having the SSL installed (which it is), ticking the check boxes in admin (which I have)(but get fail message)and checking the lines of code suggested (Which I have) is there something I am missing?

I can't help thinking I am doing something wrong!!!!!
