Shall We Delete Old Products For Cleaning Database?

Does the old disabled products in database slow down the cs-cart webshop ?

Is it a good idea to delete these products or the impact by let them in database as inactive is minor ?

Hello Pascal

How many products do you have in the database? How many disabled products are there?

Best regards

Robert.

Our DB includes about 100'000 products with 56'000 active references.

So we have approx 40'000 inactive products.

Hello Pascal

You can remove these products - it's almost half. It's best to write a simple script that will use the "fn_delete_product" function to clear all data related to the product.

Best regards

Robert.

Thanks for your answer Robert. But i'm asking myself if I will get some benefice doing it ?

You better think how to redirect the attention of the half-disappointed user to another similar product.

Hello Pascal

Do not expect spectacular improvement, but I think so. You can always make a copy of the store, delete the products there and compare with production store.

It's done :)
we always propose new products to replace old ones to our customer.

Thanks for the tip !

That’s good. Because their eagerness to buy the product increases by 23%.
