Compressing Photos To Increase Speed

I would like to increase the speed of my progressive website. I would like to know if anyone is using .svg or saving photos as fluid. Or if this even works in our progressive designs. If so is it worth the investment of time to change my .jpg and png photos

Thank you

How many images do you have at the moment and what is the approximate file size of an image?

What is the current site speed and which files need the most loading time? You can check it here:

martfox thank you for the URL the results wer that photos need scaling

"...is resized in html or css from 399x469 to 80x94 Serving a scaled image would save 436.9 kb -95%reduction.

3 others on the home page similar

881 x 2274 to 60 x 155

160 x 415 to 50 x 130

etc. these were the home page photos.

I have about 60 photos and the sizes are all over the place as you can see. So at least I have to scale most of them.

My question is should I fluid save them? Can I even upload .svg files? or Just go ahead and scale

Thank you
