Cs-Cart Progress: November 2018 Video Report

Hello,

We’ve got something new this time: a video report about what we have been working on, presented by Ilya Makarov, the Head of Product for CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor. It is our first video of this kind, and hopefully there will be more in the coming months.

CS-Cart Progress: What We’ve Done in November 2018 - YouTube

This particular report describes what we’ve done in November 2018. The most important thing covered here is the implementation of product groups in the Product Variations add-on. We already posted the list of frequently-asked questions some time ago, but now you can see the new functionality in action.

We’d love to hear what you think about the described changes and the entire concept of video reports: are they better for you than written announcements, and why? Please let us know in the comments or in this topic.

Forbidden countries :-) Thanks God, they are not marked as Disabled

Excluded countries or Exclusions sounds better and politically correct

Thank you for making this video report available to everyone, I am new to CS-Cart and although, I am not a developer, I have found the report very useful and I commend you for taking the time to inform your customers of the progress that has been done to the cart and what may lay ahead, I believe it is a good step forward and an investment. I hope we see future reports.

I like it, quite clear and straight forward.

Beats reading page after page any day.

Thank you for pointing it out. This issue creeped in because we originally created the add-on for our own use at cs-cart.com, so we didn't bother with naming as much. I've listed this issue on our internal tracking system.

Thank you very much for the video report. It helps us to understand what's going on with the development and gives us a chance to make some plans based on your time frame.

Am I right that you plan to release product groups & product variations with the final architecture in 4.10.1? What is the ETA?

Best regards,

Jacek

Ilya Makarov is on vacation until January 9th, so I'll reply instead. Please take my words with the grain of salt, as Ilya's information would've been more precise.

"Variations based on features" as opposed to "Variations based on options" are indeed planned for 4.10.1. We're not completely ruling out the possibility that they might get postponed until 4.11.1, but we'd rather avoid that. As for 4.10.1, I wouldn't expect it to be released earlier than the second half of February. That's because even once the "variations based on features" architecture is implemented, there's still a matter of adjusting the interface, converting existing variations, etc.

Seems to be inline with previously given information to me by Ilya Makarov. No need to take this with a grain of salt.
