Meet Cs-Cart And Multi-Vendor 4.9.2 With Technical Improvements

We have released CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor 4.9.2. As usual, our blog describes the most important changes in detail, and the changelog has the list of all changes. That’s why below we’ll simply mention the most important improvements of the new version.

• The support of HTTP/2 headers in responses. This change should solve the problems with PayPal IPN processing and Google reCAPTCHA that occurred on some server configurations.

• The ability for customers who have not signed in to leave comments and reviews, depending on the settings of the Comments and Reviews add-on. Version 4.9.1 always required signing in.

• The ability to allow using a payment method only to vendors (or customers). This works well with the Vendor Debt Payout and Direct Customer-to-Vendor Payments add-ons.

The upgrades to version 4.9.2 are already available in the Upgrade Center. As usual, for the first few days we limit the number of available upgrades and offer them on the first-come, first-served basis. If you don’t see an upgrade in your Upgrade Center, please try again later or in a few days.

P.S. We have released versions 4.9.2 SP1 - SP3. They addresses problems specific to the Russian version of CS-Cart and related to Russian legislation. These service packs won’t change anything in your store, other than version number. Still, we advise installing them now: the process is as safe as it gets. That way you’ll be at the latest version and see the upgrades to 4.9.3 or 4.10.1 once they arrive.

P.P.S. We have released version 4.9.2 SP4. It addresses the shutdown of Google+ API. The shutdown will be complete on March 7, 2019, but Google informs that intermittent problems may occur starting with January 28, 2019. CS-Cart used Google+ API in the following add-ons: Social Login, Back-End Sign-In via Google. If you upgrade to 4.9.2 SP4, the shutdown of Google+ API shouldn’t affect the functionality of the mentioned add-ons.

Good news, thx

First upgrade ever. Went very smoothly and without the feared problems in the language translations. All modifications were preserved.

Great work. Thank you!

PS. I have custom added states for my country. As there are other compatriots using CS Cart, it would be nice to include them in some future release. It is also good for the clients base of any other owner of MV and MV Plus.

Getting this error with upgrade, does it have to do with HTTP fix in the release? My store is on HTTPS

Probably not. Most likely it is due to permissions issues along the path of var/upgrade/restore.php

Man I disabled security to see HTTP helps and I dig myself a deeper hole, now I can't enable security and no useful error or log messages that I could use..checked all the steps in the documentation still no go.

What do you mean by "I disabled security"? Do you mean that you switched your site from HTTPS to HTTP?

Did you clear the cache manually by removing the folder var/cache? The cache should have been cleared automatically after a switch, but if you have permission issues then you'll have to do it manually.

Strongly suggest you review the PHP "mode" that your webserver is running PHP in and set permissions and ownerships appropriate to your configuration. Work with your hosting company to determine what ownerships are required and what permissions are needed to allow cs-cart to add/modify/delete any file/folder within your site.

Yes I switched from HTTPS to HTTP, cleared cache manually but still unable to activate SSL. I don't think its server or PHP mode issue because it was working fine until I switched and also I did 4.9.1 upgrade a month ago and didn't have any issue. I have dedicated hosting so I doubt host made any changes on my server.

It was caused by a CS-cart bug, Cs-cart support fixed the issue. I have to say they turned around pretty quick!

What was the fix?

They fixed it on a weekend? That's pretty unusual.

They applied it to my installation, not sure of what the bug is, but you are right that was quick, very impressed with CS-cart support.

So you don't know what they did? Would be most helpful to the rest of the community if you could find out and post the info.

Hi,

I just updated from 4.8.2.SP2 -> 4.9.1 but 4.9.2 is still not showing in my Upgrade Center - it says "No upgrades currently available".

Is 4.9.2 not fulled rolled out to all Upgrade Centers yet? :-(

Thanks

Possibly upgrade subscriptions expired and upgrade center does not allow you to use 4.9.2 version. Please check it in CS-Cart HelpDesk

Just got curious - if the subscription expired are the updates that came out during the lifespan of the subscription (but were not downloaded) still available?

Sure, they will be available

Thanks for replies. 4.9.2.SP1 now shows available for upgrade. :-)

what is included in 4.9.2.SP1

CS-Cart 4.9.2 SP1 solves a problem with a payment method specific to the Russian version of CS-Cart. This service pack will not change anything in your store, other than version number.
