Www.myelectricbike.co.uk - Uk Electric Bike Catalogue

Hi everyone,

we have recently launched a new website using CS-Cart called "My Electric Bike".

We are rather unusual in that we are not actually selling any products directly!

My Electric Bike is a spin-off from our main website Pedelecs which is the UK's largest ebike forum. On this site we have an eBike directory where users can search for their next ebike. This tool was originally custom built for us but was time-consuming and costly to update.

So we looked around for another solution and came across CS-Cart. My Electric Bike aims to have the largest catalogue of ebikes in the UK for which our visitors can search and narrow down their selection and then choose from the selection of dealers (vendors) who to purchase from and then be taken directly to their own website.

We are using CS-Cart Multi-vendor with the SimTech Master Products add-on which has had further customisation work done. We're also using the Urban Shift theme from SimTech.

I'd like to say thanks to both the CS-Cart team and SimTech who have both been very professional and helpful throughout.

Thanks

Russ.

looks good, I like it,

Spend a little time optimising your image to get decent speed. e.g the size of this image here could be reduced by lots. And also any other images in your category headings and all products should be optimised images. Would probably bring your page score up to a B or A

Site looks great though, and you may want to think about opening external links like pedelecs in new windows instead of leaving your site.(pedelecs doesnt seem to bee https)

Well done, the homepage looks good. The category pages look a bit too white for my taste. The design looks a bit too open, almost unfinished. The product page also looks a bit messy, because there are no borders anywhere. I think you could, with very little effort, make things look better.

And yes optimize images - install imagick and recreate thumbnail. See my last post https://forum.cs-cart.com/topic/52647-how-to-enhance-the-image-quality/?fromsearch=1

Hi John,

Thanks for your positive comments, I will definitely take a look into optimising all the images and sorting out the links. Pedelecs will shortly be https as it's just about to get big revamp.

cheers

Hi Flow,

thanks for your comments, glad you like the homepage! I see what you mean about the category section but I'm not sure what I need to do to improve it as I'm not a graphic designer.

Will definitely look at following your suggestion for the images.

cheers

Russ.
