Real Time Shipping Error Notifications

In the 4.8.1 change log

[!] Shipping methods: Administrators didn’t receive any notifications if a real-time shipping method rates weren’t received. Fixed.

How are we supposed to receive these notifications? I'm assuming email. Is there a setting somewhere? I don't see anything in the KB/Docs about this. Can't find a setting.

Would be nice to see. Can someone enlighten me?

Probably goes to one of the addresses related to the company for the store. I.e. Orders Department or Site Administrator.

Must be hard coded as I don't see a setting for it...

Yes, it would be. It's based on the company settings.

Please refer to this article in the docs; it explains how this new functionality works in 4.8.1.

Thanks for the guidance. The one place I didn't look was in logs.

"If 3 such errors occur with a shipping method within an hour, an email notification about it will be sent to the Site administrator e-mail address..."

I would suggest letting us set the timeout failure notice rate... my store is not a high volume store and it might not hit that rate... I'd want to know when a single failure occurs...anytime it happens.

Ok.. so I enabled it and a few minute later an order comes through. This order happens to be a product that ships free so keep that in mind. I received about 8 error emails for FedEx and USPS...here is the error portion of FedEx:

Response: xmlns="http://fedex.com/ws/rate/v18">ERRORERRORcrs868Service is not allowed. Service is not allowed. Rates Requestcrs1800
Shipping: fedex

How many shipping methods are there in your store? Can you contact us via Help desk, so that we could examine this more carefully?
