How To Change Hosts Without Dns Propagation Downtime?

I am planning to shift our e-commerce store to a different hosting provider. What's the best way to change hosts without any DNS Propagation Downtime? We can't afford to keep both the hosts live due to possibility of lot of duplicate orders on both servers.

if you move to a decent host and set everything up, then get them to sync the databases at a convenient time, dns downtime will be minimal.

Even the another database sync if needed can be done.

Hello.

The best solution is to have a domain at an independent provider with with fast server DNS where you can freely change IP addresses. Then you avoid changing DNS and only change the IP address during change hosting, whose propagation is definitely shorter than DNS.

Best regards

Robert.

Our DNS records are with name.com. So they are already with a independent provider I guess.

Hello.
In this situation, with TTL set to 3600, the change in IP propagation should not take more than an hour. In such a situation:
1. You close the shop on the old hosting
2. You change the IP,
3. You bring the store into a new hosting,
4. You change the configuration of the store on the new hosting (access to the database)
5. You open the shop on the new hosting.
Those who go to the old IP will have a closed store. Those who find a new one will be able to shop.
Best regards
Robert.
