Meet Cs-Cart And Multi-Vendor 4.8.1

Hello! We have released CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor 4.8.1. This version brings a lot of improvements, many of which should make the life of an administrator easier. That's why we have written separate blog articles for Multi-Vendor and CS-Cart with more details. The upgrades are already available. As usual, we provide upgrades in batches, so if you don’t see and upgrade in the Upgrade Center, please try again later.

Three new add-ons have been introduced to Multi-Vendor:

1. Vendor Debt Payout: a way for marketplace owners to collect vendor plan fees and debts. If a vendor doesn't pay, his or her access to the admin panel may be blocked on certain conditions.

2. Vendor Locations (Beta): a solution based on Google Maps that allows customers and vendors to specify their locations. That way customers get to see vendors on the map, discover vendors nearby, and filter products by distance.

3. PayPal for Marketplaces: a new solution from PayPal and a step up from the now-deprecated PayPal Adaptive Payments.

Find out more about improvements specific to Multi-Vendor in a dedicated blog article. Note that the CS-Cart improvements described below are also a part of Multi-Vendor.

CS-Cart (and, by extension, Multi-Vendor) has received the following changes:

1. Responsive admin panel is now a part of the core; the old non-responsive admin panel is now an add-on.

2. The Advanced Products Import (Beta) add-on can now work with larger and more complex XML files.

3. The GDPR Compliance (EU) add-on has been improved: placeholders in notifications now work with multiple storefronts; there are now optional buttons for customers to request anonymization or a copy of their personal data; explicit consent for cookies can now be required from customers before they enter the site.

4. The product editing page has received drag & drop of product images and a new way to select categories.

5. You can now select which variation of a product should be displayed by default.

6. Optional logging of realtime shipping rate calculation errors has been added; administrators can now receive emails if errors occur with a certain shipping method 3 times within an hour.

Find out more about these improvements in a dedicated blog article.

UPD.: We released a patch—CS-Cart 4.8.1 SP1. Please upgrade ASAP because it fixes a vulnerability discovered by our engineers in CS-Cart 3.0.2-4.8.1. To our knowledge, the vulnerability hasn't been exploited yet.

If you can't upgrade, download and install the patch add-on from the File Area of your Help Desk account. The patch files are called "security_fixes_4xx_addon.zip" and "security_fixes_3xx_addon.zip". Choose the one that suits your CS-Cart or Multi-Vendor version.

cant see upgrade center

As usual, we provide upgrades in batches, so if you don’t see and upgrade in the Upgrade Center, please try again later.

ok now appear on upgrade center. but we want followings.

-modern user profile address management pages,

-modern order place landing page, and order detail pages

an user left menu block with agrements

you are still using cs-cart v2 desings

also no one cs-cart theme developers dont touch that pages !

also need step checkout pages back. or must be change functionally checkout system.

( doesnt ask address, must be ask if customer use multiple address )

Product import is gooder than 4.7.4 but the category section needs to be further developed. When the category name is different, adding your own category is a little tricky. Poduct variation is missing. Modifier could more than one and add the chosen column. Example i want to add product code in product name or change, add something in description more than one.

@ikoshkin
Has this bug been fixed (again)?
https://forum.cs-cart.com/tracker/issue-6846-required-option-not-actually-working-for-radio-group-and-select-box/?st=20

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing this issue. However, I couldn't reproduce it at http://demo.cs-cart.com/ (it runs on CS-Cart 4.8.1 currently). I changed both options of the product "100g Pants" to "Required" and then changed one of the options to radio group. When I went to the product page, none of the variants were chosen by default, and I couldn't add products to cart until I selected the variants for both required options.

Please note that what I said above doesn't apply to product variations (see this bug report): one of the variations is always selected by default, and in 4.8.1 you can choose which variation it should be.

Although I'm not the one who is currently handling the bug reports, may I suggest posting issues in separate topics on the bug tracker if a fixed issue reoccurs in some later version? This follows 2 purposes:

1. It's easier for us to see the issues that haven't been addressed yet (as they are highlighted in red or white, as opposed to green).

2. It's easier for other users to see in what versions the issue occurs. For example, a hypothetical issue could occur in 3.0.1, be fixed in 3.0.2, reoccur in 4.7.1 and be fixed in 4.7.2. If the same bug report was used for the issue, it'd seem as if the issue hadn't been fixed for a long time, whereas in reality only 2 versions were affected.

good news, is time to check it, thx

Hi,

The issue is not present on the demo site, the cause is our my_changes override for product_options.tpl.

I take your point regarding creating a new report rather than posting in the existing.

cheers

Hello,

Had a small quick test and a bit surprised:

1. WarningAdd-on "PayPal for Marketplaces" is incompatible with the following add-ons: Vendor debt payout. It cannot be enabled

2. Vendor debt payout - not working with Simtech Vendor business hours. Not adding to cart as says vendor on vacation.

3. Simtech Development: GDPR Compliance (EU) addon - not working. Website not reachable.

4. Payment surcharge now paying customer?

Regards

Hello,

1. This warning is intended. The way how payments are performed in "PayPal for Marketplaces" (on the PayPal side) prevented proper integration with "Vendor Debt Payout". That's why we've marked the add-ons as conflicting.

2. Please contact Simtech Development (the developers of the add-on) regarding this issue. Simtech (the company that develops CS-Cart) and Simtech Development are two separate companies with different staff and objectives, and they work independently from each other.

3. I tried the add-on by Simtech (that also happens to be called GDPR Compliance (EU) and comes with CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor by default) and didn't encounter any problems. If you're referring to this add-on by Simtech Development, please contact them regarding this issue. If the problem occurs with the default add-on by Simtech, please submit a bug report or contact our technical support.

4. The "Take payment surcharge from vendors" setting has been removed from the "Vendor plans" add-on. If a payment method has a surcharge, it will be paid by the customer to the marketplace owner. If you'd like to take this money from vendors instead, please use the commissions functionality of the "Vendor plans" add-on.

After upgrade, i can't see the tab images in product edit page, so this is a bug or i need to put addition images with another way?

The main and additional images of a product are now on the same tab. Please refer to this article in the blog (it describes the improvements in more detail) or check out this GIF.

1.If I understood correctly both add-ons cannot work together.

4. I believe that a lot of stores now (not only me) will have to redesign their plans for vendors what is not perfect.

Not able to access admin panel after upgrade, shows only text with no way to do anything , I have tried to restore but did not work

Hello is there instructions on how to apply for paypal API and integrate Paypal For Marketplaces?

Hello is there instructions on how to apply for paypal API and integrate Paypal For Marketplaces?

Hello,

To apply for PayPal for Marketplaces API, please refer to this article by PayPal. Once your application has been approved, you'll need to install the PayPal for Marketplaces add-on in Multi-Vendor, create a corresponding payment method, and enter the credentials. After that, vendors will need to connect their PayPal Business Accounts in their Multi-Vendor admin panels, and then the new payment method will be able to be used for their products.

Currently we don't have a step-by-step instruction for PayPal for Marketplaces, but it is planned, and we'll explain some of the steps outlined above in more detail.

I tried but I got stuck at the token step:

Here's how to get the access token:

  1. Make a /token call with your app's OAuth client_id and secret keys for the basic authentication values. In the request body, set "grant_type=client_credentials"
  2. Run the command. PayPal generates and returns an access token.

If you need additional help to register your marketplace, contact your PayPal account manager.

My install went smoothly.

I do like the "Look & Feel" of the new admin panel, but I do not like the layout of the Dashboard. When I log in, I like to see my orders very first and the charts don't really do anything for me. If I could change the layout around by "Drag & Drop", perhaps I would use it this way.

Nice improvements!

I vote for that

Nice release, thanks!

Found a strange bug though. After upgrade all products that have more than 10 additional images (11 images and more) have wrong main image in admin panel while in the storefront everything is Ok. We changed them manually, it is not a problem, since there are not much of them.
