Dead 404 Links

Hi,

I do see Dead 404 links on my Google search Console.

But I can not locate those dead links in my store.

They are not among products or among pages..

So how to locate those dead links inside CS-Cart?

Thanks

Erol

Maybe regenerate google sitemap, then via webmaster tools re submit sitemap

I thinks Darius is right. After the catalog is changed, it is required to regenerate sitemap. A lot of store owners do not do it. As a result dead links are received

Hi Guys,

Here some of them:

I always had impression that Sitemap is regenerated and submitted automaticly every few days?

Please check Smart 404 Not Found URL's Fixer will help you with dead links not fixed yet

Yes, I see these URLs in sitemap

Thanks friends,

but still I am not sure if Sitemap is regenerated and submitted automaticly?

1. Do I have to Regenerate manually my Sitemap every time I change something?

2. Also, is it ok to leave Website-Sitemap empty like here: http://take.ms/1jn4m

Or it has to have something like my other storefront has? http://take.ms/ui50t

Thanks for info

Erol

1. Yes, it can be done in the settings of the Google Sitemap module

2. Yes, you can add extra URLs to HTML sitemap in this section. It is not necessary

Thanks, eComLabs...

You will need to set up a cron job (server side) if you want to regenerate automatically.

You are welcome!

I'm now finding in my sitemap lots of old urls; categories and products that have long been deleted. I've regenerated my sitemap several times, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

I thought when you made a product inactive, let alone deleted it, then it wouldn't show up in the sitemap.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Jack

Are you saying that the inactive/deleted links/products are still showing in your sitemap?

If so, I don't think the sitemap is regenerating. View the sitemap to see the date it was created.

Edit: It looks like it hasn't been regenerated since 10/24/2018

Go to "Google sitemap" addon settings and click on the "Regenerate a sitemap" button
