Free Amazon Cloud Hosting For Cs-Cart And Multi-Vendor

Did you know that you can use AWS Cloud hosting for CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor for FREE? Read his guide to find out how you can do it.

What’s AWS Cloud hosting?
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a subsidiary of Amazon.com that provides on-demand cloud computing platforms to individuals, companies, and governments, on a paid subscription basis. The technology allows subscribers to have at their disposal a full-fledged virtual cluster of computers, available all the time, through the Internet.

Being a multimillion transnational company Amazon offers its clients the best in class technologies and services. The best protection, best compatibility, best stability, best support and… the best prices.

What’s included into the Free Amazon Cloud hosting?
AWS offers 150+ services to the clients. All are grouped by the categories: computing, storage, database, security and many more.

Free plan of AWS Cloud hosting allows users to touch the wide range of provided options. It does not include all the services but enough to drop the jaw. The most significant are Amazon EC2, Amazon QuickSight, Amazon RDS, Amazon S3, AWS Lambda, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon CloudWatch and more. You can find the entire list of services included in the Free plan here.

Though the Free plan is available for one year only, it does not mean you will lose all the data after that period. You will be able to continue using the service but with strict limitation. Or you’ll have to upgrade.

AWS EC2 free for CS-Cart? With 1 GB of RAM and low network performance?

Wish you good luck...

That's what the Free plan offers...

OMG... well, I would never recommend using CS-Cart with less then 2 GB RAM.

OMG... well, I would never recommend using CS-Cart with less then 2 GB RAM.

The link in your signature tells the opposite.

Amazon's giving away free hosting with secure accesses and lots of top technologies to explore. You saw only RAM. One might use this opportunity to raise skills. This hosting can also be used as staging for tests. Or a launch site to have the first customer.

If you need more RAM, you can buy more any moment.

The link in your signature tells the opposite.

I don't understand, what do you mean with it. The link show you just all services we provide, it's not a direct link with a "recomendation"...

low network throughput as you'd never take advantage of the gp2 EBS volumes properly (remember these are network attached storage devices, not physical drives connected to the instance).

That's what I'm saying, but Mr. Maksim Komonov from Simtech won't "undestand" it...

Quit advertising in the general forums but throwing out bait and the offering your services to do it. These forums are intended to be for user questions and answers (sometimes the answers offer services but are initiated by merchants).

Putting out info about some 3rd party service being free and then describing how difficult it is and offering your services is NOT conducive to a community forum.

Why not just put your ad were it belongs? I.e. the Third Party Services section? It's bad enough that Simtech has a banner ad on the 3rd party services section. But now polluting the general forums with your advertising is getting annoying.

simtechdev.com and cs-cart.com is the same company. They just created a new "branch name" to be "separated" from the cart development and cs-cart support... and paid add-ons development.

In this "advertising thread" the "chain" looks like:

1. choose a AWS free service

2. customers with zero knowledge of linux or what ever have to contact simtech

3. and from this "point" the customer has to pay for each task they would do...

And it's not cheap...

At the end the customer will get a AWS "server" enviroment which will be at least twice expensive as a regular VPS or dedicated server from a regular web hosting company. AMAZON, is NOT a web hosting company - AMAZON is just a money maker which will sell to you everything they can, like GOOGLE and Co.

And do not trust any web hosting review sites - it's just a paid advertising or they are a part of "Endurance International Group"

...here is a list of the all best web hosting companies you will find on each review page in the "TOP 10" list:

Hey, guys!

This is a kind reminder.

This topic has its name and it's about Amazon free hosting offer. Please stick to it. Not about simtechdev.com, not about Mr. Maksim Komonov. About AWS. Ok?

1. Installing CS-Cart to Amazon is complicated - no doubt about it (regardless the plan).

2. We've created a manual how to do it the right way - true.

3. If it's not comprehensive enough, please advice and we'll improve it.

4. Try installing CS-Cart or Multi-Vendor to Amazon yourself and share your experience.

5. Nothing bad in making money if you are Amazon, by the way. Actually, that's what each business is about...

6. Price is not Amazon competitive advantage, but the highest security, quality, flexibility and scalability (both size and technological)

7. Regarding "advertising" and "the same company". While scrolling down the Insta or FB feed you see hundreds of engaging messages, but you don't write anyone to complain and to stop annoying you. You consider and make your decision to look or to skip. Guys, people are smart enough to sort things out. The point for the user is - "How can I use it?"

Now, let's come back to the topic, shall we? And be constructive like extrarius. I'll put this phrase into the signature one day.

Did anyone install CS-Cart to Amazon? How long did it take you?

Used amazon for one year or more, but only for testing cs-cart develoment,

configuring the server (and not only) is very complicated, slow, low resources...

So stick to the topic and offer your free info but don't offer your services in this thread. You've done this a couple of times now (you personally) related to this topic and related to SMTP services.

Why would you recommend something that's free but won't work out of the box and/or the majority of merchant skills won't be able to work with it?

This is a community forum, not a Simtech forum.

Thanks for following up, appreciate it.

Because one might find this opportunity useful. And that's why people create guides - to help.

Hi ThomH! As far as you have experience with Amazon hosting, do find our guide comprehensive enough to follow? Are we missing anything? Thanks in advance.

Hello, extrarius!

Thanks for your comment and for sharing your vision.

As for your recommendations:

1. Absolutely agree with you. AWS Cloud Free Tier is not the best option for production, at least in respect of ecommerce, and even less in respect of hosting CS-Cart. But in case you want to deploy, configure and test software prior grand opening, or before moving to AWS Cloud from another hosting provider and want to have a glance what's under the hood - definitely an option to consider.

2. That's true, CS-Cart team has Ansible script which can be used on any virtual machine. We took it as an example to keep the guide more simple for understanding, without adding too many Amazon services. But indeed, if you go deeper Amazon OpsWork and Elastic Beanstalk are more preferable tools to use, but at the same time more complicated. We also use it for our clients. Thanks for the recommendation, that's a good read, and for pointing this one out.

3. Sure, Route 53 is a way of Jedi, but it's not included in the Free Tier. We wish it was, but... GoDaddy is an option because they don't charge for DNS. There're more providers that also could be an example, like Cloudflare or Yandex, or whatever. If we forget about the Free Tier, then yes, Route 53 is a wonderful service.

4. Again, you're right. Using Reserved Instances will definitely reduce the cost. Those who decide to stay with AWS Cloud for a long time and move from Free Tier should take this into consideration. But you meet Reserved Instances only when you start paying for the hosting to Amazon. Free Tier does not include this service.

Extrarius, thanks again for being to the point. Hope CS-Cart owners who read our communication will find the answers to their questions. It's been nice talking to you. As always.

Guys, join in, share your experience (positive, negative).

I went with AWS. I had Simtech move and manage it. I was told the cost for AWS would be free or a small monthly fee. The web speed is very good. That is all I can say about it.

Managing AWS is very confusing unless you are familiar with it. Everything about it is confusing, No cpanel. That is why I paid Simtech but they are very slow to respond to my questions or request (days).

My web site was down for several hours I contacted Simtech. Took them several hours to respond. I found out my service is integrated with my old hosting company and that was causing the problem.

Cost is very expensive over $700 a month !!!! I don't have that large of a site 3500 products and 40K visitors a month.

If the price of AWS was more competitive with hosting companies it would be a deal but the cost and difficult interface it is not worth it for me.

$700 a month for an e-commerce site hosting? Crazy... For such price you will get 2 dedicated servers (one as failover server) with two cPanels, 100% avilability/uptime, firewall, 100% configured for CS-Cart, free CS-Cart installation or migration from foreign servers and a CS-Cart license for free!!!

Hello,

How is the support from Simtech for their paid AWS services? Is it 24x7x365 ? How is the ticket response time?

Thnx
