I believe this is possible because I see an Email template called "Newsletters: promotion". There is also a promotion condition called "Customer is subscribed".

However, I cannot figure out how to get it to automatically send the coupon code to the customer once they have subscribed.

Can anyone help?

You can always use our EZ Auto Mailer for most all your customer followup needs.  New version coming out tomorrow with several new features like support for abandoned carts, but new docs are available now at: https://ez-ms.com/docs/auto_mail.pdf

For your particular case, I'd suggest using the "new user" action rather than a newsletter signup.  If you think there's a need, we could always look into adding a newsletter signup event that would allow you to send them an email and make special offers.

Thank you for the response, but I'd like to see if this feature is built in to CS Cart. I would prefer not to use an add-on if it's not necessary.

I think you can use combination of two conditions: Customer is subscribed and Once per customer and the following bonus

https://docs.cs-cart...to_coupons.html

Note that this bonus does not send emails out of the box

What is the Email template called "Newsletters: promotion” used for?

I figured it out

In admin panel go to Add-ons > Manage add-ons and find the Newsletters add-on. Click the gear icon and click Settings then. On the Promotions tab choose a promotion whose promo code will be given at subscription. Click Save.

salvag, thanks for providing your solution. The documentation doesn't specify on how to get an email to send.  The newsletter add-on settings is where to go to make that happen.

Hi EZ, how easy is it to use your mailer to create templates, (struggling with the default one)

You can always use our EZ Auto Mailer for most all your customer followup needs.  New version coming out tomorrow with several new features like support for abandoned carts, but new docs are available now at: https://ez-ms.com/docs/auto_mail.pdf

We provide default templates for each action.  We do NOT support the newer email editor.

So basic HTML/Smarty coding skills should exist to modify templates.

We can offer customization services but most customers are familiar enough with HTML/Smarty to create their own templates from the examples we provide.
