Total Delete And Restart

I think I brought this up earlier. But I have a much older version, that now I dont think is even safe and compatible with mobile.

I see a new fresh version is $385, and to upgrade and pay someone would cost more than this. And to be honest I think its time for a fresh new clean look.

The products I will have will be very minimal these days, less than 500. So basically I am looking for a clean slate, no customer database, no products, just to start totally clean.

But with this my budget is quite small, as I do not get near the business of back in the good days. And I am by no means a programming type of guy, always had to pay to have installs done, upgrades, and designs.

My hosting service offers free software like PrestaShop, Magento, AbanteCart, Cubecart, Zencart, and a host of more that I dont think are too good.

I have used CS-Cart for many years, but I think maybe my webbase income these days I am not able to afford an upgrade, clean up, and new design.

SO I am asking advice from you folks one more time, do you think it is possible for an old no programmer uy like me to buy the new $385 version and install, or am I better off with the free versions? And can I just delete the entire FTP information and reinstall? Again I am looking for a totally clean start.

Forgot to mention my total budget is $500 for having the entire thing done, so you see my delimma

I'm assuming you are on V2 or V3. Suggest you simply export the product data via CSV and then import it into your fresh new store.

That should give you the starting point you are looking for.

Another option (but a bit more complicated) that will retain your customers, orders, products, etc. is to use the store_import addon in the marketplace. This will take you to about 4.4.3 and you can do individual upgrades from there. There is documentation online on how to use it.

And of course you can contract with a developer who might be able to help you but if your budget is $500 and you're planning to use $385 of it on software, that doesn't leave you much room to hire anyone. Why would you buy a whole new license rather than just restart your prologation period and ask helpdesk to put the current version in your file area? That will certainly give you more options.

Would love to have totally newest version, but when I contacted helpdesk, it was $385 and then the cost to install that version. Upgrade seem the same cost as new, as I have (or had now because I am installing free apps to try things) a older version that was not able to upgrade fully from what I was told.

So basically $385, and then having to pay to have it installed was my option. I want totally clean restart version

Hmm, I'm surprised that cs-cart wants to charge you for a whole new license if you previously had a cs-cart license for an older (non-free) version.

I dont remember the full price, but it seem by the time I had to pay someone to upgrade and pay for the upgrade, it was the cost of a entirely new version. And if I remember because of my mods, I could not upgrade to newest version. Thats why I figure a ftp clean out and total new re-install

Prolongate is $160. Purchase that then do a clean install.

not even sure what that is and even google doesn’t know.

Prolongate is the term CSC uses to be able to upgrade the software on your existing license. Log in to helpdesk and go to license. You should have a "Prolongate" button under your current license.

How much would one charge for a clean install?

If you want a quote for any services, feel free to click the link in my profile and give me requirements for what you want done. If you want just an install or install plus import data from your old site, etc.

Tony Of EZ would be able to perform the services you require. I also see your website now has a clean install of Abantecart

Would recommend staying with CS even for seo reasons

now trying Magento, but soo many years fimiliar with cs-cart. Just too many issues with spam entrees, lack of security with old version, lack of design, and cost. :-(

Why is it that you can install/test other carts but you need to pay someone to do an install of CSC?

Upgrade subscription should be free for old CS-Cart license owners. It can be checked in the CS-Cart helpdesk on the Licenses page

To get a quite for the upgrade, feel free to contact us

I guess Magento is more difficult to install and make all settings correctly than on CS-Cart. Moreover, Magento developers take more money than CS-Cart programmers. By the way, we work with CS-Cart and Magento solutions.

Also, there is a discount on CS-Cart license on our website. But, you should first contact CS-Cart helpdesk to check if you have any free upgrades as eComLabs said.

Anyway, you are welcome to contact us if you need any help with CS-Cart or Magento.

Best regards,

Alt-team.

We are also at your service. Anyway, it is not required to buy license in your case. I am almost sure that upgrade subscription is free for your license. If not, it costs much less that CS-Cart license
