Updating Customers Email Erases Billing Address

So I have had some problems with random orders coming in without in address information (less than 1% so extremely rare). I'm not sure if this is related but a customer left out an "o" out of his email address so I went to the order and updated it with the correct email. When I did, all of their billing and shipping information disappeared from the order. I can go and type in their address manually when I edit the order but when I hit save it all disappears again (or simply doesn't update it). Any idea what would cause this? I am not sure if those two issues are related but would make sense that if a customer decided to update their email it would cause their address information to disappear like I seen.
