Not sure if this is a result of previous mods or is by design but when a product is out of stock it is not displaying anything to say this, it just hides the add to cart button.
I'm trying to add something to say out of stock when the button is hidden. I can find where the code for the button is in the product_data.tpl but don't seem to be able to pop a bit of html in to display out of stock.
Hopefully someone could point me in the right direction, we use cscart v3.

Check our free CS-Cart module "Stock filter". If you like it, we can adapt it to your version.

It should show the Out of stock label in CS-Cart 3.x versions. Possibly issue is caused by custom theme changes. Please PM me temporary FTP access so that we can check the issue
