Hello, i need some help in this multi vendor edition
is it possible instead of taking the commission straight away using Paypal AP
and use like the ebay method by adding all the commission up and automatically charge their paypal accounts by the end of the month including vendor plan payments if the plan isnt free
We started down this path about a year ago. We were trying to:
- Capture payment from vendor at sign-up before activation (fairly easy)
- Place commissions into an "escrow" type of queue for payment some period AFTER shipping by vendor (not supported by most payment providers so would have to build into project)
- Pay vendors at end of month in a batch process (Requires payment provider specific operations)
- Provide appropriate reports of earnings/payments (not hard)
We found the biggest obstacle is the variety of abilities of payment providers. Very few will do a 1=>many type of distribution (violates most of the policies) and fewer still will support a delayed payment via an escrow type account.
There are several ACH providers who can distribute 1->many but they don't usually accept credit cards nor support delayed payment queues. So you're left with having to manage separate pools of funds. Not difficult with a business that does real account receivable/payables, but complicated to do within the context of the "cart".
We abandoned the project since to do the functionality required became extremely specific to one or two payment providers only and that different countries have different restrictions on how those funds can be legally managed. Additionally, the cost of the project was going to be way over the client's budget and the opportunity for addon sales was low to unlikely due to the restrictions.
and the store owner can withdraw to the vendor each end of the month?
and also will the store owner see the available funds for each vendor, if so will what be with the comission or without the commission
You can review the vendor payouts and do offline payments (write checks, do ACH transfers, etc.) to your vendors, but there's nothing built into the default cart to do any form of payment.
