I made a test and converted one product with options variant
As a result I have additional product variation tab with the list of the same variants but with prices 0 and without images. I do not think it is correct convertion as the prices in old option variants and variant image have to be copied to product variation tab as well.
Also I still have option variants as before... Is that normal?
Any idea how to convert the whole shop in bulk to product variation? Or I have to prepare again the new import table?

It's a bit late to answer, but probably this will be useful for someone else.
Yes, variants should be still available - because this is what displayed in the option selecteboxes of the product.
There is no way to convert the whole shop to variations at the moment, so the best way is manual way + modifying the required properties using Export/Import.
it is hell of the work to remake whole import csv (merge several to one)!!! Also since the convertion is not accurate (I mean prices comes with 0) I can not even export the template! Is there any easy solution planned in the nearest future?
Anyone tried to import products as product variations? I mean combine 2 import files to one (product and product combinatios). Does it work correct?
I mean since it is not possible to convert correctly product options to product variations, what is the right way to re-import (update) the same products with the same product codes and the same product options (variations) codes? If i delete all products and import new table then I loose all previos data (sales, etc). If I just reimport new table with the same codes will I have duplicates options or products?
Can we have clear step by step instructions from CS CART how to convert and import existing prodduct and combinations tables to new one. All valuebale information from product options has to be inhereted by product variations (Without lose and duplication). How to do it in the right way?
Also if I currently have only one image for all options, do I need to duplicate and rename main image for every product variation? or it will use the main image from the first variation if others are not available?
