Hey all,

I'm just trying to clear something up and the best people to ask are you experienced guys n girls as Paypal are not too clear on these 2 points.

1: When I get Paypal Pro I'd presume I get a certificate to put in the right folder via my account with them. But...do I need to also purchase a secure certificate for my server or does the PPP certificate take care of that and pop the padlock into my customers browser?

2: Are Paypal Pro's withdrawal times the same as a normal PP account (normally 7 days)?

Any help would be appreciated :)

I rang Paypal and they informed me it still takes 7 days to withdrawal down from their accounts.

But she didn't know if I need my own SSL certificate or not. :???:

Do I need one or does PayPal pro sort this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as nobody is giving me the answers and you guys are the best to ask ;)

ps. They need to get CS.Cart on their list...which I told them :)

Hi tmhs,

You're going to need to get your own SSL cert if you're processing credit cards on your own site through PayPal Pro. I'm about to start using PayPal Pro as well and when you mention it takes seven days to withdraw funds, is that after they've posted to your account? How long does the actual transfer take to your local bank account?

Thanks,

B

Hi,

I meant from PayPal to your current account.

She told me (the PP helpline) that it's the same as normal paypal. When I angrily said "that's normally 7 days!!! " She said "emm...errr...probably 3-5"

For me probably means...not.

what do you mean by 7 days withdrawal?

the time it takes to send money from the pay pal account to your bank account?

it takes me 3 days , I have seen it as fast as 24 hrs also

(I have pay pal pro)

when someone buys something online the money shows up right away

That's fantastic to hear!

Normal PayPal can take 7 days but if PayPal pro pays you that quickly then it's happy days!

Thanks for the encouraging words :)

truem,

I am by no means a PayPal fan (I'll spare you the horror stories), but am curious how your experience has been with PayPal Pro? I'm about to start with it and am always curious...

Thanks,

I have been using PayPal Pro for over a year and have only good experiences. Setup with CS-cart was kind of a pain but it works great. Also, it is free to sign up for the money market which is now at about 4.8%. When your customer's pay you it goes right into the money market and makes you some interest until you withdraw.

My experience has been great
when setting it up I had an error,
I called them and they fixed it within 5 minutes
pay pal pro has a different (faster) support # where they pick up instead of putting you on hold

the screwed up part about pay pal pro is they made it $30 instead of $20

maybe I need to get a money market account
