Here's how to speed up your website:

·         Remove Unnecessary Plugins and Add-ons

·         Significantly Limit, or Remove, Social Sharing Buttons on Your Website

·         Load Analytics and Ad Networks Code Asynchronously

·         Enable Expires Headers

·         Enable Caching

·         Use a Content Delivery Network (CDN)

·         Get a Better Web Host

·         Your Website Theme

·         Install Google PageSpeed on Your Server

·         Optimize and Reduce Image Size

·         Enable Gzip Compression

·         Regularly Optimize Your Database

·         Minify Javascript and CSS Files

·         Combine Your Background Images into Image Sprites

·         Enable HTTP Keep-Alive

·         Fix All Broken Links on Your Website

·         Avoid Image Hotlinking

·         Limit the Number of External Requests

·         Use a Reliable CMS

·         Use a PHP Accelerator

·         Prevent Others from Hotlinking Your Images

Sorry, got the URL From your porfile, nice looking site. But your landing page is very large, 2.15MB and 109 requests. I have a site using the same template   Total Page Size 815KB. Requests 32.

So reducing this would be a good start. Also using amazon CDN might help.
