Cs Cart Upltimate Multiple Storefronts

Am I right in thinking I can have multiple storefronts with different products and domains with ultimate.

my query is this:

I have about 10 good big customers who I would like to create sites branded with their own logos just for them with just there own products for them to order online to us. Maximum about 100 products in each site.

I would set the domain up as "theircompanyname something" and have a total site for it,

Would these sites be controlled by 1 admin or multiple admins

Thanks

john

Hello. I think these docs might help:
http://docs.cs-cart.com/4.4.x/user_guide/stores/index.html
http://docs.cs-cart.com/4.4.x/install/storefronts/index.html

Can each of these storefronts have there own theme deployed ?

e.g. Store 1 > Vivashop Theme

Store 2 > Default Theme

Store 3 > CsCart Graceful Theme

I have a question regarding multiple store fronts.

CSCart documentation has these ways of configuring additional stores in CPanel

CS-Cart supports additional storefronts

  • in a web subdirectory (example.com/store2)
  • on a subdomain (store2.example.com)
  • on a different domain (store2.com)

Is there documentation that has information to decide which one to use. There is not comparison of Pluses and Minuses for each method. For example:

SEO, Sharing of SSL certificates or multi-domain SSL, sharing of Payment methods, such as PayPal. How do I decide which method I should use? I do have a new domain, if this is the best way.

Thanks,

Bob

In general - yes, each store-front can have own theme. But in practice there can be conflicts between 3rd party modules which are installed together with 3rd party skins

Then the architecture should be such that the addons should be enabled on per storefront basis rather than for all to avoid these issues , am I correct ?

I think so, but how something like this can be made?

You are right. But unfortunately addons do not work in such a way

Yes, you are right. Unfortunately, we don't have this sort of documentation yet. Thank you for bringing this up: I've taken note of your request, and this kind of documentation may appear in the future. However, I can't say yet when it'll happen.

I think one of the key factors that should affect your decision is whether or not you want your customers to treat each storefront as an independent store.

ikoshkin : Should the new ultimate version take care of this since it becomes more of a SAAS platform then , vendor can pay for every addon service they want .

Currently CS-Cart and CS-Cart Ultimate don't support enabling/disabling add-ons separately for each storefront. The differences between CS-Cart and CS-Cart Ultimate are outlined here:

Starting from version 4.4.2, we’re offering two CS-Cart editions: CS-Cart and CS-Cart Ultimate. CS-Сart Ultimate has everything CS-Cart has, plus an unlimited number of storefronts and an ability to manage a store via a mobile app. Read about Ultimate’s advantages and prices in this detailed post.

Please note that although the functionality you mentioned hasn't been implemented yet, the values of some add-on settings can differ from storefront to storefront. If you'd like to enable/disable add-ons separately for each storefront, please post a request in the Ideas section. The ideas supported and voted for by CS-Cart community have a higher chance of being put on the roadmap and getting implemented.

The idea to enable/disable addons depending on the store is a must. Otherwise there is no sense of unlimited stores. Every store has to be an independent entity but with one admin zone, and one database.

Also this idea was declined https://cscart.uservoice.com/forums/134344-cs-cart/suggestions/3003485-enable-disable-addons-on-each-store-not-a-globa

The point that I can configure add-on setting individually is not the case if I want to have add-on enabled in one shop (storefront) and disabled in the other one. Of course I can hide active addon in clients area but i can not do the same in admin zone. That is not good.

You can restrict admin view/access to addons if an addon has setup the permissions properly. I.e. when you add a user to an Administrators group, you can manage what addons they have access to via that group's permissions.

Yes that is true. But if there is only one admin and 20 store fronts this solution is not really handy. The idea is to have one admin area for all independant storefronts with one admin account.

Even cs-cart says a storefront is fully functional shop it is not as a new installation on separate virtual host...

I think title ultimate will be dismissed in some time and multi store front will be available by default. From my point it is very unfair that additional store front does not operate as I imagined. I hate that addons cannot be disabled per storefront.. All stores ralate to responsive parent theme, I did not know that, have modified some tpl files now it is real pain to fix this on live store..

Also upon unsuccessful upgrade all stores will go down.. Not sure if convenience operating under one admin is worth all this..

It should not be a big deal to extend active/disabled for individual storefronts for addons. What it would mean is that (similar to usergroups), the "is_root" admin would be the one to control which storefronts are active/disabled. Would require a new table or at least a new complex field in the cscart_addons table to support it.

If this is important to you, we'd be happy to develop this for you. Might have to be a "mod" versus an "addon" since it's not clear if any core files would need to be modified to accomplish that. Probably not, but it is a possibility.

I do not want addon, I want additional store front operate as normal store as is advertised with own skin and enabled functions as I need..

Then by all means submit to user-voice and when you don't have it after 3-4 years, you might want an addon....

Seriously, just trying to see if there's enough demand to help out.
