Will this work in conjunction with other themes, like VivaShop and UniTheme?

Hello!

The add-on will be installed and work with these themes. But the styles will not be the same for AMP page.

In what way would the styles differ? Do you have a demo to offer on either themes?

AMP Pages are really cut down - they are made to be cached and fast loading.

We are finding traffic and orders coming from Google with AMP now.

AMP page has completely different style - the default one as in my screenshot above. The reason is that this page should be created by scratch with own styles. You can change these styles to be similar to your theme.

It will be great if we find the universal solution to import styles from the store theme.

Does that imply that I would have to duplicate layouts for just Amp pages?

Yes, you can consider it to be a second theme / frontend of your store.

How would that compare to or even compliment your addon Full Page Caching PW ?

Well, seeing mobile phones nowadays have a solid internet connection I wouldnt worry about AMP too much, you might get a higher ranking indeed but you can basically counter that by making sure your server is fast enough by itself (we have live CS-Cart stores which dont even use our full page caching / varnish cache whatsoever and achieve TTFB's of just 70 ms (category page of 120 products).

So I guess it depends on the country itself. Romania would bo a good contestant but the Netherlands or America wont be.

Given this is all being driven by Big-G, I would expect that if your ecommerce site does not have AMP support then you will eventually be downgraded by Big-G in its rankings. This is another Big-G view of the world and those who rely on Search will be penalized if they don't comply (may be a ways out, but expect it).

Yes 'eventually'. Right now AMP pages are there just to prepare the world for the implementation so at this point it is not that important, what is important is structured data. Implementing the correct schemas (including jsonld) to improve your overall ranking is currently the best practice.

You just install the add-on and AMP HTML is automatically applied to all products in your store. You do not need to create layouts or something else.

What about the manifest that is used to designate the home page and other attributes of the site?

Recently we found out that merchants have a higher conversion for AMP pages (x2), which is no surprise. But!

They keep sending the mobile traffic from the Adwords ads to the regular mobile pages, which is surprising.

Guys, revise your advertising campaigns, split mobile and desktop, send mobile traffic to AMPs.

And share the results here. Thanks!

P.S. How high is your AMP conversion compared to regular mobile pages?
