Hello guys,
Starting from Multi-Vendor 4.3.6, we offer the Vendor Plans add-on. This add-on allows marketplace owners to offer vendors subscription plans with certain restrictions, such as maximum number of products, maximum revenue, and more. You can download this add-on from the File area of your Help Desk accounts as it doesn’t come with the Multi-Vendor installation package.
Besides other features, the Vendor Plans add-on gives you control over vendor commissions. That’s why the Vendor Plans add-on is not compatible with the Vendor Commission add-on. Before using Vendor Plans, you have to disable the Vendor Commission add-on first. This fact complicates the usage of Vendor Plans and confuses marketplace owners.
After some discussion, we decided to remove the Vendor Commission add-on and include Vendor Plans in Multi-Vendor 4.4.1 by default. Vendor Plans can be used either for commissions or plans: if the plan is hidden, it is only used for taking commission from vendors. Since the plan is hidden, other vendors cannot subscribe to that plan. Literally speaking, if you only need the vendor commission feature and don’t need plans, you can still use the Vendor Plans add-on, piece of cake.
After the upgrade to Multi-Vendor 4.4.1, all your current vendor commissions will be automatically transformed into separate hidden plans and those plans will be assigned to corresponding vendors. Everything will keep working the same.
Before making an ultimate decision whether to remove the Vendor Commission add-on or not, we’d like to know what you think about our move. Do you really need the Vendor Commission add-on while Vendor Plans includes the same functionality? Please spare one minute to answer this question in our poll.
