Please Post Your Ttfb Scores And Your Hosting Company

I'm running CS-Cart 4.3.8 on a HostForWeb VPS and getting an "F" grade for my CS-Cart store and was wondering if it's all down to the hosting provider, or if it's down to my theme (Vivashop) or some other factor.

So I'd be grateful if you would go to this speed test site:

http://www.webpagetest.org

enter your home page URL in the box provided and then click the "Start Test" button.

Wait until the test completes. Across the top of the results page you'll get grades for various performance metrics. The first one is "First Byte Time." As I said, I get an "F" for this. Please post your grade for this metric and also name your hosting company.

Thanks!

Also an "F" for First Byte Time.. I'm on 4.2.4 with a pretty good VPS setup on KnownHost.com

B amazon hosting :-)

I have a B first time, change location and get an F, Change location and get a C, changed location furthest away location and browser got a B.

Premium Shared Hosting with MDD Hosting.

Version 4.3.5

I am using vivashop

I guess depending on when you take the test, the browser and location, Cable or something else, you will get anything between an A and an F for the same website.

Not for me. I get an F every time, no matter what settings I use.

Who is your host, Darius?

https://pro.hostingas.lt/

it is VPS where I have no root, all setup and maintenance is done by host according to my requirements. With directadmin very easy to jump in between php versions now am on latest php7.

Server spacs

  • 4 x 2.4 GHz CPU
  • 8 GB RAM
  • 1 GBPS line

Was using cloudflare CDN for some time, but without it was getting even better score.. Also problems with paypal IPN

4.37...Knownhost ssd

  • 24+ CPU Cores Equal Share
  • Guaranteed RAM 4.25 GB
  • RAID-10 SSD Storage 70 GB
  • Premium Bandwidth 9000 GB

F A B B B X, I am fairly certain that my first byte time is due to the chat client agent load time. The first byte time is just a hair over 2 seconds. Total load is 5.2 on the first view and less than 2 on repeat views, I can live with it.

A while back, CS-Cart team wrote a blog post recommending Digital Ocean--I was hoping someone who is hosting with them would chime in also.

I checked most of your sites. The reason you are getting F for TTFB is because you selected HTTPS for your default site. You probably did it for SEO but it takes time for SSL cert to be exchanged and connection negotiated, roughly 1 second and that is what you are getting. If you disable enforcing https on your site, you will get much faster response time.

I am using a VPS that I configured myself, hosted at Linode.

I get 100-200ms on average with CS-Cart 4.3.6.
