I am new to the scene of integrating ecommerce into a website, I've been doing some research on the solutions that most companies provide... How has CS cart worked for some of you? Thanks. ..
Cs-cart is an awesome platform for most small merchants. It is easy to administer (relative to other CMS systems) and can be up and running in no time. You have quite a bit of flexibility with the look and feel within the standard product and there are many custom skins that you can purchase for generally very low cost to make your site unique.
If you want to extend functionality, it provides a good architecture for your developers to work in so that their work is protected from future upgrades (within reason).
I went through many carts and settled on CS and am glad I did, especially now product options are being more flexible.
One thing I wish it would have is a product option ability to add all options to cart at once as a table, but there are good custom mods out there for this.
I would recommend CS to you as a new ecommerce platform without hesitation
