Cart-Power: Communication Add-On

Dear Friends!

We are glad to introduce you our new Conversations add-on.

The Conversations add-on allows you to realize communication between customers, vendors and administrators. You can write a message in the administration panel, a personal cabinet on the site or from the product page. You will not miss any messages because of the built-in notification tool that shows the number of unread messages when you log in to the Administration panel.

General Features:

  • an opportunity for administrators, vendors and client to send messages to each other within the Administration panel and My Account menu in the storefront;
  • a built-in notification about unread messages on logging into the Administration panel;
  • an opportunity to send messages from product pages, all vendors page and vendor store pages;
  • an opportunity to place the Send message to the Vendor button as a separate block in any place on the vendor store page;
  • an opportunity to attach files to messages;
  • an opportunity to add users to the conversations.

Compatibility: 4.3.x - 4.9.x

Since most customers will just reply to an email message instead of sign in to their account, if the customer (or admin) sends reply by email, will it show up in the ticket thread?

The messages (replies) sent from e-mail are not recognised in the Communication system.

I was looking for this! I have a question, if I am in a product page and I want to send a message to the vendor, do I have to put what product I am sending the message from? or does the message already indicate the product ID? Because most customers will just ask a question and forget to say what product they where looking at.

I cannot speak for anyone else, but in my experience, 99% of customers will respond to the communication email rather than log into their account to use the helpdesk..

This means the conversation thread is broken. It is very important to have the helpdesk pick emails that are responses and add the content to the conversation thread automatically. This is the main feature we are looking for with an integrated helpdesk addon.

Another, less important feature is the ability to attach files and/or use some basic html.

Is there any plan to add this?

I was looking for this! I have a question, if I am in a product page and I want to send a message to the vendor, do I have to put what product I am sending the message from? or does the message already indicate the product ID? If the customer chooses "Start a new ticket" the URL to the product will be added to the topic commentaries section.

If the customer chooses "Select ticket", the message will be applied to the existing topic and no information about product ID will be added.

The functionality of picking up messages from the e-mail has lots of hidden snags, s we did not apply it to our add-on for now.

As for adding files, it is already implemented.

As for HTML redactor for the posting messages, it is not wanted for CS-Cart storefront for security reason.

Yes, this functionality is realized in some systems, but not in the add-ons. For now, we do not plan to add this functionality to our add-on.

Good to have the file upload etc. unfortunately, the lack of email reply support is a deal breaker for us.

The way around this is to use a do-not-reply@emailaddress. with a "Reply" link..

Im sure its already implemented, but this still requires the customer to log in to their account.. Hmm bummer

Our add-on works with the customers registered in the store, that is why the login is required.

As the possible way out, we can offer you custom modification on integration customer e-mails into the system. If you are interested in it, please, send us the e-mail to sales@cart-power.com

I agree with @remoteone. If you could replicate what you have at https://hd.cart-power.com/ as an Addon, I would be one of the first website owner to purchase it. You have pretty much everything that we would need already done for this website.

Even if you didn't add the email option, giving the ability to combine communications from all CS-Cart forms would greatly help. For example, many of our visitors use "Contact Us" forms or other form pages that we put on the website. If those messages were tunneled into this Add-on, that would greatly help but still I would lean towards paying for the first extension that can keep track of emails.

As for e-mail integration, there are lots of moments unique for each store version and e-mail system. We have no general solution suitable for most of the system options now.

As for forms, we consider this functionality nd try to add it to one of the future releases of the add-on version.

For now we can advise using the special block called Post message to vendor.

Either of you guys are not selling this add-on. Little bit conspiracy here... I have no doubt that you are using the same addon coming from the same source. I have dealt with both Alt-Team and Cart-Power and it is the same exact add-on and possibly the reason why Alt-Team is not upgrading their website to latest CS-Cart version and you are using it at your sub-domain. It looks like it was done for CS-Cart 2.2.1 version and not being worked on since then.

I can't care less who, where the same add-on came to the software companies. I can only show you our demand and demonstrate the need for this add-on for ecommerce companies like us. If you make it available for CS-Cart latest version or make something similar, I will be glad to pay it. We desperately need something like this for 2017.
