We need a floating widget or menu that shows an shopping cart icon and a account icon that link respectively to the shopping cart  and an icon that links to your account.

 

This floating widget should float anywhere on the right of the page as many of the social media icon addons that you will find in the cs.cart marketplace.

No I never had it done by either one of the developers that I usually work with (eCom Labs)  but that is because they (eCom Labs) have done something better for us..

Thanks, I don't see it either, but the floating Zen Chat thing is pretty much what I'd like to see for for a View Cart button, except it's much too tall. When I shrink the browser down to the width of a cell phone, the site is nicely responsive but the Zen thing takes too much screen height. After the hectic holidays are over, I'll see about contracting someone like eCom Labs to make a 'View Cart (nn items)' the height of a button anchored to the bottom of the page, only visible when there is something in the cart. I'm surprised this doesn't exist as an add-on..

The menu but what about the Top & Header ? Are you talking about the hovering the links or something else ? Feedback always appreciated.

This addon does something very close to what you are looking except showing number of items in your cart. If you add the link to cart, it takes them to the cart page directly. I found it very useful for our site.

Thank you, ThomH!! I just installed it and it works well. Except, clicking my custom cart icon opens a new window/tab. Is there any way to avoid that?

Never mind, in footer.post.tpl, I changed the target of custom to _self and it works great!
