What are our options?

Please check 3rd party modules on the marketplace which allows to show only discounted products

The one that's available is pretty bare bones and runs a CRON job to build a bunch of new "on sale" categories.
One wonders why there's no way to create a filter, so that customers can view a product category and then extract all the for sale items...
