Is 4.2 Compatible With Mysql 5.6?

I would like to upgrade my installation to MySQL 5.6. Does this cause any issues?

5.6 version is recommended for all versions since 4.3.1

https://www.cs-cart.com/requirements.html

Yes, I know. But unfortunately that says nothing about CSC4.2 system requirements.

The link of requirements shared says nothing direct about MySql 5.6, only PHP. It only generically says "MySql version 4.1 or newer". So has anyone installed "MySql 5.6" and did it work properly with CS 4.2.?

According to Mariya Vechkanova in support CS 4.2 does in fact support 5.6. So yes, from now in to infinity we can all accept that CS-Cart in any version will support any version of MySql. The reason I know this is because not only does CS-Cart generically state this information on their requirements page but they decided that they should start 10 days of support for asking them to clarify their generic information.

So when you find this post in 3, 5 or 10 years and wonder if any particular version of CS-Cart will work for sure with a particular version of MySql, not to worry! According to the generic post from CS-Cart and Mariya, yes, yes indeed, it will always work!
