I have been using Simtech Development for a long time now to do all my cart improvements. I used to have different shopping cart and hired some "experts" on freelancer site to do some improvements specific to my business. Unfortunately after paying for such changes, I would find out that suddenly some other parts of shopping cart are not working correctly. Of course the "experts" say it's not them, so I had to hire some other "experts" to fix the changes I have already paid for. My shopping cart was so messed up that I stopped getting orders and I had to simply start over.

I started with Cs-cart and I have been happy ever since. It comes with MANY features, but if you are missing some specific ones, Simtech Dev can do it for you. I have had over 20 new modules installed. At this point my store www.RedLeafTea.com offers the largest, customizable green tea selection. My flavored matcha teas offer over 250 ways to customize your green tea powder. This would not be possible to do without changes that were done by Simtech Dev.

Did I mention they guarantee the work for 3 months in case you find out some issues with it later on? The person I have been working on from the beginning is Andrew Golobokov and I could not say enough nice things about him and his work. The best part of this is that they are the REAL experts and I have a piece of mind that it will all work. I have NEVER had any problems with communication or the work they did.

In our opinion, based on our numerous experiences with the team is that-that is an absolutely true statement. I have been using Simtech for all of our modifications and upgrades to our websites since 2004. I can honestly say they are great to work with and always do a great job. No Company is perfect, but Simtech always makes things right if any problems or issues arise. I only use Simtech add-ons and just fill more comfortable dealing with them even though we are based in the US.

Well most of these reviews are a year old now. I have experienced nothing short of terrible service from Simtech.

I paid a massive $200 for minor changes to my website. They took 4 days to start the job after payment, then after some of the work could not be done. I was fine with that however, I needed some final modifications to the changes they have done. Not to mention in the process they somehow broke the generation of all the thumbnails on my website. I had to restore thumbnails from a backup and use Magic Zoom to restore some thumbnails.

The request for my final fixes was February 17th, its now the 25th Feb with a half broken website still waiting. They will most likely get to it next week sometime, thats over 7 day lead time just to fix issues they caused and final changes.

I am sorry but this is unacceptable. I know my 200$ is nothing compared to some of your big projects, but don't leave a project half baked and broken for over 7 days. Its pathetic. Its my live website. My bread and butter.

Problem is developers (speaking in general, not about Simtech) treat live stores as a dev site and care little for site owner problems. In this forum you can find nearly every day give me ftp or even ssh access as if this is some innocent thing, they do not realize that if you have no proper backups it may be end of your business, website down, reputation… Developers however hold no responsibility…

Other website I have (non commercial and not related to cs-cart), Friday eve asked for access, totally broke site and calm went home and responded only Monday on business hours… :slight_smile:

That sucks of course, but you should also never let developers edit your live website. Just make a copy in a folder with its own database - it's 5 minutes work and saves you tons of problems.

I always ask the merchant for access to a test site versus live and then after their approval I either package up the changes for them to apply or apply the changes myself to their live site. Obviously if this is a really small change or one that is a corner-case, then using a test site is more overhead than needed. But a development project is a different beast.

I don't like working on a live site. A small syntax error at the wrong time during checkout can cause all kinds of problems for a merchant.

Communication is one of the most important elements of working with any 3rd party. If you can't have a dialog then things may always be a struggle. Timezones are the biggest issue but also some developers (including cs-cart helpdesk) only deal with their tickets once a day so you get one message back and forth a day. We try to respond throughout the day. But we too sometimes get absorbed and can miss things.

I will explain the situation. All the work that you paid for was done. The only thing left is thumbnails. Our add-on has no relation to thumbnails, but anyway we are ready to solve the issue and we are working on it right now. Our manager contacts you every day, so we did not leave the project.

Also I want to note that we do not work on live stores, we make a copy of your store and develop the modification in this copy. Then we show you the result and only after your approval we move changes to your live store.
