Adding Related Products To A Product Tab

Hi,



Is there a way to add a product tab with all the current setup products that would work with that particular product. For example, if we are selling a radio control car and have about 30 different part products setup in CS-Cart, is there a way to include a tab in the Products Detail Page showing all 30 parts that would work for that R/C car?

Dear Hobbiesdeveloper,



For that, you can do the following steps:


  1. Go to Admin panel menu of your web store ( http://demo.cart-power.com/power/admin.php).
  2. In Admin panel go to Design > Product tabs and press “+” button to add a new tab.
  3. Name it, press “Select block” button. In the opened window go to “Create new block” tab and select “Products” block. Make necessary settings, go to “Content” tab. Select “Manually” option and add all necessary products, press “Create” button twice.



    Please note that the added products in the created product tab will be applied to all the products on your web store.



    When creating a tab, it is not necessary to add products right away. You can give this tab “Disabled” status, thus, it will help you avoid disabling the tab with products, where it is not needed, and simply activate them where necessary and add particular products.


  4. Go to Admin panel menu > Products > Products. Choose the necessary product to edit it. Press “Product tabs”, click on the block settings of a created tab. In the “Content” tab you can add certain amount of items for the product and press “Save”.



    Please note that additionally added items will be displayed on the page of the edited product only.



    The same steps refer to other products you might wish to edit separately (please start from step 4).

Hi Cart-Power,



That's definitely what I needed. Is there a way to import the product list information to the Products > Product Tabs > Part Tab > Block Settings > Content ?



I have a lot of items to import for specific products?



Also, I added 10 custom products to the content option and it's only displaying 2 products, is there a way to increase the products tab to show around 20 to 30 products and add a link to show the rest of the item that work with that particular product?

It allows you to set related products automatically based on tags. Besides it support Export/Import of these tags.

Also there is a more handy way to add related products right on the product page.

Thanks for the info but that was not what we were looking for. Is there a way to import and export a list of products into contents block settings of each active product?



Just a recap, I currently have the Parts tab setup and would like to add products by importing a list to it, i wasn't able to find where it stores the parts product list in the database. Have tried looking in the phpMyAdmin and only found the _product_tabs and the _product_tabs_description. The _product_tabs_description only had the Parts tab that I created recently but can't find all the products that i added into the contents block.
