Why Doesn't Cs-Cart Have It's Own Servers ?

Given the seemingly endless blame game between CS-Cart support and web hosts then

why don't CS-Cart have their own server farm ?

If there are over 25,000 active CS-Carts out there then wouldn't they all love to

be on a stable platform.

CS-Cart's recommended hosts are not ( in this real world ) ideal.

We do have. it is Merchium - merchium.com - this is a Saas service.

Downloadable products is for installing on your own server. And it is not a good idea to have a separate team to maintain the server infrastructure. Our aim is to make good product. Servers are not our cup of tea.

Yet the web hosts CS-Cart recommends don't seem to cut it for many.

I guess you are right about servers not being your cup of tea.

Maybe there is no such thing as a perfect hosting environment or you

would only recommend one or two.

Shame about that.

Shame about what?

Shame that CS-Cart doesn't have it's own server farm built to their

specifications where our carts could run smoothly without the blame game.

Best thing right now is getting a dev to setup a vps for you. ( Remember to set a backup solution).

Nice to see kogi has the money.

It's US$10 a month for a VPS

So what's your point, get a cheap hosting? is $5 cheap enough?

VPS is the only right solution if you are running CS-Cart to do business and not playing around.

We do software not hosting service. If you are not good with server configuration you can either hire a developer or use Merchium.

In the near future we will release some packages that can be easily installed on a VPS server and should work out of the box.

Docker containers? Vagrant? :D. How soon will they be ready?

There are some already, but we need some time to figure out what exactly do clients need most.

That's awesome, But It still recommend they hire someone like you to set it up.

Also most of the host kvm backup is for last resort use only. They need a proper backup system. I think duplicity to S3, but could use a few more options

I pay $77.00 a month for 5 gig on a shared host. This is a 'reliable' Australian host.

Price is not the issue.

Well, It's self managed.

If you are asking if I get 40gb of storage, then that's a yes

Ransom IT is now in bed with my current provider, Micron21

I have a support contract which is probably why I pay so much.

( and boy do I need supporting…lol )
