Why Exactly Was Statistics Deprecated ?

I liked the old add on. Apparently it was resource hungry but if we felt so then why didn't we get the option of simply disabling it ? We ended up with last year's car now having wheels as an optional extra.

It was resource hungry and made many ajax requests to update the data. It probably also got to be a burden to maintain without any added revenue. It also seems to dupliate much of what is already collected by Google Analytics so there was a lot of redundancy. Just my perspective…

Please take a look:

At this rate will will soon be purchasing a car with wheels and engines as optional extras.

Not this extreme but Statistics was very useful and it's live view was far more detailed than

Google analytics Real Time View. You could observe all the pages visited by customers and

not just the current page. The developers who are currently selling it are most likely a branch

of CS-Cart itself ( like Searchanise and Twigmo ).

termalert,

To built really good tool for statistics you have to spent much time. The same with Mobile application and Search engines. In fact in programming community we call this “To reinvent a wheel”. Everyone has to do what he should do and CS-Cart team is working hard on shopping cart software that sells.

I understand that statistics is one of must have tool for each online store - and I'm personally use Google analytics.

My personal opinion is that CS-Cart statistics add-on is more like a toy instead of a real business tool.

Fair comment but Statistics was onsite and more fun. I agree that compared to GA it is most likely a toy

but I liked it. You shouldn't take toys from children…lol
