Add-On: Custom Shipment Carriers & Tracking Number Process

Custom Shipment Carriers & Tracking Number Process

Out of the box, CS-Cart offers only 8 tracking methods: USPS, UPS, FedEx, Australia Post, Canada Post, DHL, SwissPost and Temando, and no possibility to add new ones.

That's often not enough.

In case you want to add custom tracking methods to CS-Cart, because you're shipping using a custom carrier and want your customers to be able to track their orders shipped using these custom carriers, this is the extension you're looking for.

This extension gives you the ability to setup UNLIMITED CARRIERS and also is coming with more then 70 custom carriers ready to be imported.

Add new carrier
The tracking number gets replaced in the tracking URL automatically, just use the [TRACKING_NUMBER] variable and the actual tracking number will show up in the tracking URL.

Add new shipment for our new carrier in orders details
The new carriers added will be found in select box above of default CS-Cart carriers: USPS, UPS, FedEx, Australia Post, Canada Post, DHL, SwissPost and Temando.

But, from experience I can tell even I managed to add needed carriers myself, customers receive email with tracking number with a link to tracking page, also same number is available in their profile shipping tab, they still write my emails asking where is my order? Nobody bother to go to backend…



So my point is that it would be great if customer could somehow see order tracking details easier, in homepage or something…

I guess is very easy for you and for your customers just to tell them, “Please click on the tracking number and will be redirected direct to the shipping carrier website where you can see all the details in regards to your order” and once you tell them I guess second time will not ask again :D



The problem is when are coming new customers, because they need also to let them know or add the message above direct into the shipment comments and for sure all they received, the only thinks remains is to open the email and also to read the text :)))))

Excellent buying ! The price is really good for a so powerful addon. That's works really well and it's so easy to use. I recommend it to the sellers who are using many carriers.

Screen shot you added in above massage, can such block be available in homepage? Meaning not visible for guests, but seen by signed in customers? For example most recent 3 last orders, this would be great feature.

[-] Upgrade Center is not available yet, but will be soon, is under testing, the script is done but require our server to be ready and also more testing to be done

We also have issue that customers do not bother checking thier emails or log-in to see order details and the tracking numbers themselves.

Daius' idea might be useful, but the returning customer would still need to log-in. Many of our customers are not smart enough to realise that websites do not run on magic and that they need to sign in to see thier history.

Perhaps an idea is to have a “Send Tracking Info” button in admin > order details page.

This would send a link with order info (maybe even the full invoice) with clear tracking information and links at the top of email.

So when we get a “wheres my item?” email, we can just go to the order and hit the button.

Also have an option to add the tracking info at the top of the customer email sent when Order Status is “Complete”



Im hanging out for v4.3.2 upgrade before purchasing any more addons.

But … cscart, if you are listening…I've gotta say it… the need for such an addon is just another reason that cs-cart should remove the words “Full Control”, “All-Inclusive”, “All you need” and “batteries included” from their advertising as without basic functionality as this such statements are ,IMHO, false and misleading.

The shop Im dealing with has only ONE carrier. It is absolutely pathetic that we need to spend more money to enable the software to to send customers a tracking number and tracking link.

But as said, its comforting that a solution is available.

Sorry, but for the moment is not doing any of that

Please consider to add this. I would buy the addon instantly.

We are using the following shipment methods:[list=1]

Do you support these methods? Mind that UPS Europe uses a different API than UPS USA.



Can we print shipping labels from this addon?

I have bought your addon but now see that it does not add custom shipment carriers to CS-Cart. It only adds a tracking link. Not the custom carrier itself. The addon name is confusing.
