The provided instruction is not correct. The password is not stored as is. It is encoded with md5 algorithm and a salt. We suggest you to use the default Password recovery feature (Please check the Forgot your password? link on the login page)

Instant Demo - CS-Cart Multi-Vendor Demo Try Free for 15 days

If it does not help, please let me know and we will help you to log in the admin panel and change password there

Allow me to provide some explanations on the tutorial from the upper link.

CS-Cart saves its passwords in its MySQL database after they are encrypted with the MD5 algorithm. They aren't stored in plain text and if you save them in that way, you won't be able to relogin.

As noted in the tutorial, you can select from the dropdown the option PHPMyAdmin to convert your password to MD5 automatically for you, saving you the hassle of using any additional tools for the purpose.

This has been tested with the latest version of CS-Cart - v4.3.

Additionally, if you find any difficulties doing so, you can enter the following in the password column:

5f4dcc3b5aa765d61d8327deb882cf99

Then, you'll be able to login with “password” and change your CS-Cart logins from the backend.

I don't believe phpmyadmin will support the salt. Only password from pre V3 aren't salted.

Actually it should work if you make the salt parameter empty. Cvetomir. it should be described in the tutorial.

Yes, but I don't think that was in the instructions. This is really something that should not need to be done this way. When someone forgets a password, they should simply use the forgot password link and let the system properly handle things without having to edit the DB directly.

I totally agree with you. Especially since CS-Cart has a built-in tool to recover the password

I have this exact issue. I tried to use the "Forgot your password" link but didn't received any email notification.

I also tried resetting my admin password from phpMyAdmin as shown in the instruction and removing the salt value but still i'm unable to login.

Anyone can help please?
